Thanks Bluey, rang up my agent yesterday. The new owner should close end of this month. I was hoping to be out about end of April, but apparently I have to stay until my agreement finishes end of June.
That's always the sort of thing one faces when renting though. I live in dread of a letter from the agent saying this place is to be sold

I was renting a delightful cottage in a mews in the centre of a village (with an 'open all hours' shop 50 yards away) and delightful, friendly neighbours.
The (overseas) absentee landlord wanted to cash-in his investment and I was offered the alternative of buying or leaving.
I wasn't in the position of buying, so I had to leave - the alternative was an out-of town housing estate where I never saw the neighbours and it was a one mile trek to the nearest shop (and no public transport connection).

I wouldn't be that worried as I suspect that I know who you mean but I am sure he is far too much of a gentleman to take offense. I suspect he has been called a lot worse during his employment.

I don't know who your owner is Bluey but I have been renting out properties successfully for many, many years and the one thing any property investor is always looking for is good, long term tenants.
I know the owner is required to offer it to me first if he decides to sell but there's not a cat's chance in hell I could afford to buy it ... a similar place down the road went for 1.3 million, and that's just the value of the land hereabouts.

Hmmm. There seems to be a predilection for skating on thin ice going on.
Good morning all.
Brass monkey weather again.
A rousing start to the day with some military marches belting out of my
speakers.
Pot roast of beef for din dins.

Morning folks. Bright and sunny outside but one suspects it may be a bit chilly.
As it's Mother's Day, Mrs 4ma is being somewhat leisurely at preparing for the day ahead. One is expecting to be crowded out by children/grandchildren bearing gifts for SWMBO.

Good morning all. Sunny here a few miserly flakes of snow earlier.
For all you know I could be already spoken for.
Bluey, couldn't you try crowdfunding or something? I know why not marry Lasernigel!! He loves being married and you could both look for a rental together

RBG's Theory of Relativity
S+(M/W)10 - TD<FZ(inf)
Where S= small soggy spaniel, M/W = viscous muddy water, TD = delay in applying towel to very wriggly dog, and FZ = spatter zone on all light-coloured furnishings, tiles, curtains, owner's clothes, paintwork.
Don't see why Einstein should have all the credit.........

Can imagine how the FSL's feeling. I've been told to limit my fluid intake to .85L per day - includes stuff like soup or yogurt. I used to drink a couple of litres of water alone each day. Almost down to sucking pebbles.

RBG - that's funny.
But don't envy the clean up - almost as bad as a small cut on the ear or tail...
Just whizzed up in bits the trimmings of yesterday's roast lamb with onion and parsley and its now oven bound, sogging gently away in stock for the macklings of a shepherds pie later this week.

Not lost any bits HF but it must have been close. Appointments at Hospital upcoming - but only with the cardiologist although I was also told to cut back all the way on extra salt
