I also believe that still lurking below the silt, is all manner of stuff quietly leeching away as we sleep
Not to mention the Richard Montgomery

Countdown Spoiler Alert . . . .

Ladies & Gentlemen, as I wrote a few months back, I made the trip oop North to Salford Quays TV studios for a chance to drool over Rachel Riley . . . . .

Tomorrow, 2nd May at 1410 on Channel 4, you can judge for yourselves whether it was worth it . . . . .

Pip Pip!!

Greetings.

A tad foggy this morning and a peevish 6C which will hopefully
lift soon and leave us with a half decent day.

The bin men should be here quite soon and I will eventually get
the recycling bins emptied that I filled before we went away and I
can then start all over again.

A visit to the garden centre for pot plants and the first pots are now gracing the patio with more to follow. I love it when summer finally arrives.

From that map one can see that AM Harris wasn't the only chap engaged in area bombing - and don't forget the size of those American Pickle Barrels

Re the bomb map. One landed at the end of our road and destroyed 8 houses. Great playground for we urchins until they built two blocks of hidious flats on the site!

Who's a clever TRABBSTER then ?
Well done Mr Fairr. An excellent result.

Did you get to take Rachel home as a prize ?
(If Susie is the consolation prize I'd be happy with that too)

Most impressive John. And I got a few as well! Must say you were a tad more subdued than I am used to!

And re the bomb map, remember that is only for about 3/4 of the actual Blitz and doesn't include anything after 1942. There were loads of raids (and V weapons) after the actual Blitz, the dad of one of my coffee mate's was killed by a bomb dropped by a lone raider in 1944 -- coffee mate was ejected from bedroom to back garden.

All that said, it was a bit worse for the residents of Hamburg, Berlin, Bremen et al.....

not to mention Dresden.
I was shocked when I went there in 1990.

Angels,

I'm sure they put something in the coffee up there. I had two monitors recessed into the table; trouble was, they were covered in drool and I couldn't see the letters . . . .

It's amazing how nerve-wracking that bloody clock is, witness the no response to a simple numbers round! Going through it today, I was getting 7s when actually I won with an 8 - PERGOLAS. Weird.

Anyway, Rachel was delightful and gets better as the week goes on - if that is possible?

I shall have to watch tomorrow's on catch-up as I'll be out at the time.
No point in wishing you good luck as whatever happened
already has.

hf - I predict another win for the fairr one this afternoon!

John - That is very odd about your failing to get something yesterday you actually got at the time!

The Italian coffee shop I use in the morning is being sold to a Turkish buyer. The sale appears to have fallen through yesterday. As one of my chums said this morning, "An Italian selling to a Turk, what could possibly go wrong?"

Picking up on Angels' comment, it's amazing how your brain suddenly refuses to process the obvious steps, ie I knew that "6" in the last numbers game was 5 + 1, the only two remaining, unused numbers. That would have put me clear before the last round. Likewise, I did not pick up on SOAKING when I tried, unsuccessfully, SODAING.

Out of interest, the previous show, yesterday, was recorded at 8:15 in the evening and the one today at 10:00 in the morning. They record 5 shows a day, and these ones were made on Feb 20 and 21.

Recording 5 shows a day must get very tedious for the
professionals. They show great skill at looking fresh for each
episode the way they do.

A trifle overcast this morning and not very warm but the forecast
is for Mr Sun to make an appearance later.

The bins are now empty so there is no excuse for not hitting the
gardening later after the Sons of M have been visited.
