Well congratulations on your first visit to the dark side, Dodger. Come and visit us more often. And Juud ... it's lovely to see you posting here too, you are missed, you know.

BH is definitely a bit of a worry, hf ... do let us know if you hear from him please.

Look after yourself, Drapes, there's a lot of chums on here that need their daily fix of Draperdom, not least the Hound . . . . .

Very sincere best wishes for a quick recovery and return here, Tony. Without you, this hallowed thread is like "Hamlet without the Prince", and loads of folk are keen to see you back and firing on all cylinders!

And just look at who has shown her concern by returning here, none other than that sassy lady Juud! I thought you didn't like us any more dear lady, I've missed your cheerful posts a lot, and the occasional PM as well, so hopefully we will see things restored to blissful normal now ... (Yes??)

Oh, oh. The creepiest thing in that picture is that the big one in the front is smiling.

As if she has just been appointed to some grisly task (like dealing with the photographer, maybe?) while the rest stand in grim judgement of how well she accomplishes it..

The next creepiest thing is that I can recognise three of my aunties in there.

I believe it might be this one.

Link Wray's 'Rumble', one of my all-time faves!

I think FSL might be playing something by Mr Knopfler, perhaps 'Going Home'.

Morning all.
A bit warmer today as befits a FRIDAY
(The Friday banner will be in black as a mark of respect to the absent Mr D
until his triumphant return)

Pruning of the trees now complete. All I have to do is get rid of all the
rubbish produced. As befits a man of the sod my hands are now calloused and blistered. I wonder if that qualifies me for the sobriquet of "a bit of
rough".

Ahem, HF, did you really mean to say that or is that a dark secret you have been keeping?

Morning folks,

Cloudy but not too chilly. One is off up me canal for a bonfire session. Plan of the site has been marked to show which trees have to stay and which ones can be chopped. Red to go, green to stay. We think the man who drew up the plan is colour blind!!

All right, I suppose a man of the soil sounds better.
I don't suppose one blister on a finger makes me a bit of rough either.

That photo of the Legionesses reminds me of the truism 'no matter how hard you try, you always end up like your mother.'
