Good evening all. Some home made lentil and bacon soup on the go and pork chops in cider with proper cooking apples brewing away in the slow cooker; nice smells from the kitchen.

Thought I should ask that Mr Baghdadi chap around for dins.

This is the last page, number 219. However, the website says the last page is 223, these phantom pages are getting out of hand.
On another topic, sad to read that police dog Diesel was killed in this mornings unpleasantness in Paris.

Oh dear. Have I been modded? I posted this wonderful clip earlier but it seems to have disappeared. That or I cocked it up, which is perfectly possible.

Anyway, this is for Herr D. especially. Haunting stuff I found.

I got a form for the purpose of updating the Electoral Register, through the post.

All very ordinary and straightforward UNTIL it asked "Are you over 70?"

Why do they want to know that? Do my votes count double? Do they come round and shoot you?

Can't find the answer on the Council website

Magic clip Mr Angels, haunting indeed, all those lives and how fleeting life is, not a single living thing we see moving in those scenes apart perhaps from the odd tree is alive now.
So near yet as far away as the builders of Stonehenge now.

8.6 In England and Wales, all electors over the age of 70 years must indicate this fact on the annual canvass form or rolling registration form by which they apply to be registered.
The Electoral Registration Officer must supply a full copy of the register of electors, including an indication of those electors who are over 70 and therefore not eligible for jury service, to an officer designated to summon juries.

My registrating form had a section that asked if I wanted me details removed from the electoral register ie so they couldn't sell them on to the vermin that bombard us with junk mail, one answered in the afirmative of course, I suspect it will make no difference, it shall still land on me doormat.

Good grief, Thursday already.
Usual autumn weather here.

From listening to the news I see that they've found the body of the 15 year
old girl that's been missing locally.

angels!!! Where you been mate?

One's diabetic kitty cat is still doing reasonably well although she did come out of remission a while ago and is back on the insulin. Two injections per day and my place is starting to look like a junkies' refuge with syringes and a bright yellow sharps disposal container taking pride of place in the kitchen!

That's a wonderful clip about Edwardian England ... the thing I noticed most was that almost every single person, man, woman and child, wore some sort of hat or cap!!

Bluey - Tend to hang out elsewhere nowadays, all well though. I still check in here from time to time.

Re the electoral roll, I checked that box ages ago and have found that it does actually work. Don't get much junk mail at all. Loads of the bloody spam on the interweb though.

There is supposedly a shortage of people who will serve on juries over here but I have not been asked for about 4 years
and I now have plenty of time available. I still have excellent eyesight and hearing even though I am now 67 years old.

Yep, we tick the "keep off the public" roll and it does work.
It is particularly useful for knowing who to blame if our post code is compromised.
We have 2. 1 the council uses and 1 every one else uses.
If I get a phone call, I ask about the address and note the p/code.

Once I did contact the council about a spam phone call and said that someone's either stolen or hacked your lists. They assured me that was not possible, blah blah, then I hit them with the above info.
Cue much red faces and apologies.

I felt it was a successful day that day.

Just got settled in T5 lounge atHeathrow. Now know it is a great rip off. Thought I'd get some SG at Travellex at Manchester. They quoted 1.9 SG = 1, thought I'd leave it until I got there. At Heathrow had second thoughts, went to Travellex in T5 they quoted 1.8SG = 1. The big down South "lets fleece you" as much as we can.

Looks like all 380's go from 5C, only bit with no lounge, about time they changed that.

One is halfway though my six monthly licence check. The only good thing about that is that tomorrow will be the day of the longest possible time before I have to do it again :/
