Seems a tad close to a public road and unfenced for kit like that, round here the scallys would be in there with side cutters and hack saw like a shot.

I would hate to be an assessor these days, as they too have rules to stick to and what to report...mainly non-compliance. It's a shambles.
Agree with you on that. My cousin has recently resigned as an assessor somewhat disillusioned after some 20 years service as a Football League referee followed by around 10 years as an assessor.

Thanks for the explanation of Mi Casa and Casa Mia.

One wonders why anyone would want to sleep in those box beds. Close the shutters and thus be protected from bugs or rats or insistent suitors? Surely the snoring would have rather been amplified than muffled in the hollow spaces of this wooden construction?

Freedom from draughts - and the ability to save body heat.

Oh yes, sleeping in the engine room. More than once after arriving onboard with the 07:00 taxi boat after a lively night at Santos' Scandinavia Bar.
First Engineer not too happy though.

I once worked with a bloke who fell fast asleep whilst fitting a switch to a wall,I kid you not, twere a program switch for early cable TV,he was crouched down as the switches were at waist height leaning agin his terminal driver fast asleep,he got a bit of a fright when I shook him awake, however in his defence he was exceeding hung over that morning.

Our first telly,we have moved on since.

Casa mia
= House of Mia

Mi Casa = My house.

Both mean "my house"

After my reportedly poor start to the day things have turned around.
Mr Sun is up and about and the clouds have vamooshed, wither I know not, nor care.
No doubt they'll be back some time.

Porridge made with water for breakfast.
How the mighty are fallen.

Remember a couple of years back we had one storms after another coming across the Atlantic and clobbering us,this Summer seems to be vast swathes of rain coming up From Spain and France one after another attacking us.

Until I've lost at least a couple of stones at least. This is in a bid to keep
me off dialysis as long as possible.
Bacon production has been slowed down but not discontinued. I need to
avoid salt as well but, just sometimes, only a bacon sarnie can fill the gap.

Not down to us southern Iberia dwellers, like Wodrick and me, Mr D. We has got no rain to send anywhere, nor have we had for months.

If you must point a finger at Espana it must be at them northern expats shack 37 and OFSO. They have monopolised the rain in Spain for several months.

Question for the finacial bods, settle a argument, what is the maximum amount one can have in a simple savings account in a Bank before the spiv bastards demand you start investing it in one of their thieving schemes?

It varies between accounts and banks Mr D but the National Savings and Investments lot let you have a maximum of 2M per person in the Direct Saver Account.
No doubt they would start nagging you to move it into a theft account well before you go to the limit.

Once working in a bank and asked the manager that if I won the lottery could I just stash the loot in a account that no one else could touch that earned no interest and I could come in and demand to see in cash anytime I wished,he said such a thing could be arranged,he regarded with horror the idea of no interest though, one told him that it would be my intention to spend it all before I popped me clogs and filling the buggah up again with interest would just make the task more difficult.
