Old time PPruners

14 years this month since I signed up to this place. Made lots of friends, seen people come and go (sadly in more ways than one) and have seen relationships between individuals develop and evolve, sometimes ending happily, other times not.
I think this might have been done before but I wondered if peeps fancied sharing memories and recollections about some of the more colourful characters that, for whatever reason may not be around anymore.

Some names come to mind...
Binos
Captain Snailtrail
TNT...
Airship

Poor old "Foss" will possibly bring back some painful memories for some here, or no longer here.

But Airship still floats in occasionally. He once threatened to shoot me.

Gainesy will always be remembered! Wizard of Oz (sadly deceased), singaporegirl, Velvet ... and others on a long list.

Been a Ppruner for 15 years now, how the time flies!

Wizard of Oz (I lost two friends in that accident because I sailed with Chris Hart, the marine pilot who also lost his life in the crash),
Binos,
411A,
Velvet,
Foxfire (Foxy's still around, but she doesn't "Pprune" any more),
Gainsey,

and others whose "nom-de-Pprune" will doubtless make me very mindful of my own mortality. Those crazy times in the old PPRuNe Chat were priceless.

For me, the funniest was Tricky Woo, ably abetted by Mr Draper.

The most impressive was the late Davaar.

Tempsford - a very knowledgeable, unassuming, interesting person. I remember him for many things not the least of which was giving me a guided tour of the experimental Concorde at Duxford. A Duxford guide was a bit miffed when his offer to tell us about her was very politely declined. He stood just within earshot of Temps (to my mind ready to correct him) then crept nearer and nearer with obvious keen interest as Temps was explaining all the positions and equipment to me.
Yotty - for his tales of NZ and other things - and a beautiful flower arrangement.
Not forgetting my local PPRuNer

Agreed on Davaar and Gainesy as most notable prooners, now sadly passed.

Been here since 2004 myself after being introduced to the site by a certain Brockenspectre

I should have mentioned the late David Jenkins, his real name, a true gentleman who introduced me to assisting at BAeA competitions something I really enjoy.

Although he "only" joined in 2005, I'm confident that Rainboe is missed by many and I would really have liked to heard his views on many topics that have come up since he took his departure.

Come back, all is forgiven?
