Locked horns with Bino's many a time in the Oz politics thread, but I'll always remember that he offered to buy me a beer in my "Almost bought the farm" thread. Sadly, I never got to take him up on it.

But Airship still floats in occasionally. He once threatened to shoot me.
You got off light, mate!!!

Don't forget those who come back under their new non d'plume - TC

Certainly, that's a good point, but I'm not sure that Rainboe could disguise the style in which he expressed his trenchant views.

I lurked in 1998, was lost in a systems crash but got back in 1999 and was lost again but it's been steady since 2000? I think.

Yes, we've had some laughs. RichLee on the run from Singapore girl. Flaps 40 of course, Whirlygig...so many fine and entertaining people.

Yes, dear Daavar. Grieve for him and poor Fos.

So happy Mr Draper is still at the helm.

I feel gratitude and much respect for Captain Danny Fyne for setting up this play pen for us.

Some of the names made me grin. How about Betty Swallox?

Ah yes, the late, respected Davaar as others have mentioned. One of the most eloquent and erudite posters these pages have ever seen. Our own wordsmith, sadly gone.

Jerricho, moved of the great, white north and wandered off. He hated cats!

I had the enormous good fortune to meet Davaar in person and found he was even more impressive in 3D than on these pages.

His story of recovering a buoy is one of my favorites ever.

I too have only been here for ten years.

I recall the wit of Farmer, and I miss the ladies and their agony aunts thread. Whirls and Stockpicker were good value there.

Some of the most memorable characters are no longer around because the battle is over. I refer to the incredible Mull of Kyntire thread and the main protagonists:

The loyal and always polite Brian Dixon on the one side and the equally polite but stubborn John Purdey perhaps not so ably abetted by Kilo52

Scran - music quizzer extraordinaire in the late 90's - still see his "offsider" Pigboat around here (I had a previous life here which was lost due to system issues)

G-CPTN; Tall and Tasty was one of my favourites too.

Captain Airclues; I was allowed a "re-birth" on Prune when my then employers found out who I was and threw a purple fit. Nearly lost my job for a comment I made and Prune arranged a new ID.
