In Slashers absence I feel compelled to bring this scatty discussion back to the obvious and real cause of back pain:

The 17 year old actress made the decision to go ahead with the operation after years of putting up with back and neck pain due to her 32F cup breasts.

The actress kept her decision quiet and had the procedure on June 4, reducing her breasts to size a 34D.

In an interview with Glamour Magazine, Winter said the size of her breasts had become a constant problem on the set of her show.

I sympathise with the problem but, at 17, how many years could she have suffered? And anyone who knows how to measure for a bra will tell you that you cannot go from a 32 anything to a 34 anything.......the number is the size of the band and is measured round the rib cage!

Yep, sure this can be causal. Went to the Yacht club open day today, with a rare visit by the family. Nice at first, but after a while, and having shared in a jug of Pimm's, I was wrecked. Just like the lower end of me spine was being dissolved with acid. Not for the first time in the last 15 years, I left there with life feeling like a ten tonne weight somewhere in the middle of me brain.

On a light note. I bought a memory mattress from a traveling sales guy I happened to see at a neighbor's house. Nice it is, with 'Normal' one side and 'Memory' on the other.

After some months of using the memory side, I thought I'd turn it over. That night, I undressed and got in and it shouted, Who the fk are you?

Quite so, and unless she put on weight to celebrate being lighter and smaller, someone's made a hash of their article.

Further to my earlier post (10) I have now completed my Network Spinal Analysis course and, for anybody who is interested I can pass on what I've learnt.

I will start by saying that it does not appear to be a quick answer to chronic back pain caused by the stresses and strains of life e.g. deformed discs.

The reason why so many of us have damaged discs and arthritis is that, over the years, our spines become compressed and bent. Physiotherapists will often treat this problem by stretching your spine and, while this may cause the muscles to stretch, giving some relief, it does nothing to repair the nervous system. NSA claims to do that but it can take some time.

Treatment

This involves lying flat on your stomach on a couch, fully dressed except for your shoes. You can be in a room with several other patients so that, sometimes, you can watch others being treated. The practitioner will flex your ankles and then very gently touch somewhere on your spine for a few seconds. He will then go off and work on another patient. After about 2 - 3 minutes he will come back and once again touch your spine. This can be repeated several times until he then asks you to sit up.

While you are sitting up you can watch what he does to other patients and it can be quite interesting. On one occasion I could see the patient's lower spine pulsing like a heart beat. On another, the spine was going up and down like a wave. Quite amazing.

Results

After each treatment, for 2 days I felt worse than ever, on one occasion I felt as if I had been hit by a train. However, half way through the third day, I would suddenly feel very much better. The main reason I went to this guy was that my attempts to ignore my old age by playing competitive tennis were causing me several days of lower back and hip pain. Even walking any distance caused considerable discomfort.

Since this treatment I have played some pretty good tennis and walked a fair old distance to watch the Bournemouth Air Show. I can't say that I was totally without some discomfort but it was significantly better than before. My spine is very much straighter than it was and, according to the practitioner it should go on improving on its own.

I believe that, if I decide to go on with the treatment, this improvement will continue and, he believes it could even cure my split disc in time. However, that does involve a big investment and I am not sure that, at my age, it is worth it. I will probably have the occasional treatment to help maintain my current improvement instead.
