He's hosting a foreign head of state, I thought Americans prided themselves on being good hosts? The leader of the free world should just leave a guest to soak so some loons on the Internet can't have a go at him?

And someone here said it was about 'reversing slavery'. How far gone are some people here? Its frightening. Genuinely since I assume they have access to guns.

There's a lovely photo out there of Trump beaming like a star crossed lover when Putin arrived today. Meanwhile Macron and Merkel look like they want to tear his throat out. I know which I prefer in my leader...

Look, I I get it, no-one likes to accept they were hoodwinked. People lash out at the other side rather than admit how completely wrong they were. It's basic human psychology. Alas basic human psychology has led to some pretty despicable regimes in the past. And as thick as Trump is, he has advisors who know enough about all that to know which buttons to press in a lot of people to get them to support everything they previously claimed to be against.

Some here really need to take a step back. This man is bringing facism to America. To such an open extent he can't even be bothered to honour its war dead. Ask yourselves if maybe the battle is there and and not with some strangers on the Internet who are merely pointing out the very alarming and obvious warning signs. Frankly it's the duty of any decent human being to point out what is clearly unfolding.

It's a shame, I was in California recently and it's a wonderful part of the world. Sadly suffering greatly right now. And I invite you to see how the President of their country reacted to that suffering, only to be corrected by the Passadena fire department. But of course there will be excuses for that.

Ps. You know that elite you all despise? Trump is it.

Seems to be a presidential thing, Clinton kept all traffic at a standstill at, I think, SFO one day whilst he had a haircut!

Former FBI chief James Comey ‘misused private email’

Many blamed Hillary Clinton’s defeat in the 2016 presidential election on how the investigation into the use of her private email server was handled by James Comey, the former FBI director. Now documents have emerged that, according to the New York Post, suggest that Mr Comey himself used a private email account to discuss sensitive government business.

In the four years that he spent in the role before he was fired by President Trump in May last year Mr Comey discussed FBI-related matters with his chief of staff via his private Gmail account in messages that covered about 1,200 pages, the newspaper reported. It obtained 156 pages of the correspondence but was denied access to at least seven more, which the Department of Justice (DoJ) characterised as too sensitive to be released because they could “disclose techniques and procedures for law enforcement investigations or prosecutions”. Another 363 pages of emails were withheld because they were related to agency communications or may have led to personal privacy concerns.

The emails surfaced as the result of a lawsuit filed under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by the Cause of Action Institute, a conservative watchdog group. Mr Comey’s use of a personal email to conduct government business was revealed by the DoJ earlier this year but he has insisted that he did not use the account for sensitive or classified information.

John Vecchione, chief executive of Cause of Action, said: “We’re deeply concerned that the FBI withheld numerous emails citing FOIA’s law enforcement exemption. This runs counter to Comey’s statements that his use of email was incidental and never involved any sensitive matters.”........

It would seem there's a new chapter in the Guiness Book of Records, one dedicated to the White House and "list of implausible excuses "...the latest entry being that the always considerate Donald didn't want to cause a traffic jam in Paris.......the one in France, not Tx to avoid any confusion here.

Possibly he's never had the pleasure of attempting to drive or be driven in and around Paris for the rest of the year......

I thought it was just some sort of lame joke, some of his brain-dead partisans having it that Trump did not want to disrupt Paris traffic with a motorcade to that cemetery. Nope, it is official, straight from the White House!

What next? Trump did not want to litter Vietnam with hot, expended brass from his M-16, so messy .... Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Little Donald the Environmentalist!

Actually, I think some people here are just pretend Trump partisans. The very notion of Trump as any sort of ambassador, when he lacks any sort of manners at all, is straight from the pages of humorist Jack Handey's Deep Thoughts (for shallow people):

“Laurie got offended that I used the word "puke." But to me, that's what her dinner tasted like.”

Donald went to France, checked out Mme. Macron, and said that she was "in such good shape ... " for an old broad.

I bet Donald told Sarah Huckabee Sanders "You know, for a fat girl you don't sweat much." Then he wondered why she dropped her corn dog and burst into tears. "What? I was paying you a compliment. Women .... "

Hah! As if there are never any traffic problems in Paris to start. No...never, and Donald did not want to be the first to cause any.

One day historians will ponder over this phase of the American nationhood and ask why a chunk of the populace thrived on lies. Embraced them. Welcomed them. Asked for more. Sure other administrations trafficked (pun intended) in untruth, but never so boldly and baldly.

Everyone knows that rain causes invisible bone spurs to flare up...

You can't blame the guy for being a dick. He's always been a dishonorable, disreputable lying scumbag, so it would be unethical for him to stop just because a bunch of morons elected him to the presidency.

Trump Returns To The Motte

Now back in the White House (Motte) having retreated from the Bailey (Europe), Trump has a different issue to deal with besides Stormy and the model payoffs. It seems Trump's conclusions regarding North Korea's nuclear program are greatly exaggerated, not surprising.
WASHINGTON — North Korea is moving ahead with its ballistic missile program at 16 hidden bases that have been identified in new commercial satellite images, a network long known to American intelligence agencies but left undiscussed as President Trump claims to have neutralized the North’s nuclear threat.

The satellite images suggest that the North has been engaged in a great deception: It has offered to dismantle a major launching site — a step it began, then halted — while continuing to make improvements at more than a dozen others that would bolster launches of conventional and nuclear warheads.

The existence of the ballistic missile bases, which North Korea has never acknowledged, contradicts Mr. Trump’s assertion that his landmark diplomacy is leading to the elimination of a nuclear and missile program that the North had warned could devastate the United States.

“We are in no rush,” Mr. Trump said of talks with the North at a news conference on Wednesday, after Republicans lost control of the House. “The sanctions are on. The missiles have stopped. The rockets have stopped. The hostages are home.”

“It’s not like these bases have been frozen,” Mr. Cha, the leader of the team that studied the images, said in an interview. “Work is continuing. What everybody is worried about is that Trump is going to accept a bad deal — they give us a single test site and dismantle a few other things, and in return they get a peace agreement” that formally ends the Korean War.

Mr. Trump, he said, “would then declare victory, say he got more than any other American president ever got, and the threat would still be there.”
This is where Trump's lying and exaggerations become really dangerous...

Hilary for President.....

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/h...ster-9k2hdbtl0

Hillary Clinton will run for president again, says pollster

Hillary Clinton will run for the White House again to fulfil her mission to become the first female president and take revenge on Donald Trump, her former pollster said today.

Mrs Clinton, 71, will “take down rising Democratic stars like bowling pins” in the race for 2020, said Mark Penn, who worked closely with her when she lost to Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination in 2008.

There was a widespread expectation that Mrs Clinton would win the 2016 election and two years after her defeat to Mr Trump she is preparing to embark on a six-month speaking tour with her husband Bill. She has given mixed signals about a return, both ruling it out and musing on how she would like to be president.

“She will not allow this humiliating loss at the hands of an amateur to end the story of her career. You can expect her to run for president once again,” Mr Penn wrote in a joint article in the Wall Street Journal with Andrew Stein, 73, a Democratic politician and former New York City Council president.

Mr Penn said that “after two years of brooding” Mrs Clinton would return, despite the misgivings of some in her own party. “More than 30 years in the making, this new version of Mrs Clinton, when she runs for president in 2020, will come full circle — back to the universal-health-care-promoting progressive firebrand of 1994,” Mr Penn predicted.

“Mrs Clinton will fight this out until the last dog dies. She won’t let a little thing like two stunning defeats stand in the way of her claim to the White House,” he wrote with Mr Stein, in reference to her primary defeat to Mr Obama and presidential loss to Mr Trump.

“Mrs Clinton has a 75 per cent approval rating among Democrats, an unfinished mission to be the first female president, and a personal grievance against Mr Trump,” Mr Penn and Mr Stein added. “Don’t pay much attention to the ‘I won’t run’ ” declarations. Mrs Clinton knows both Mr Clinton and Mr Obama declared they weren’t running, until they ran.”

Mrs Clinton was asked about a return in an interview last month. “No,” she said and repeated “No”. Pushed by the interviewer about the long pause between the two noes, Mrs Clinton added: “Well I . . . Well, I’d like to be president.”

She went on to leave her options open. “There’s going to be so much work to be done,” she said, referring to the next presidency. “The work would be work that I feel very well-prepared for having been in the Senate for eight years, having been a diplomat at the State Department . . . I’m not even going to think about it until we get through this [midterm] election about what’s going to happen after that.”

A successful return by Mrs Clinton would enable her to claim the nickname coined by Bill Clinton for himself when he revived his presidential ambitions during his 1992 primary campaign: The Comeback Kid.

A senior member of Mr Trump’s inner circle said she would be delighted if Mrs Clinton won the Democratic nomination. “Dear God, please, yes,” Kellyanne Conway, counsellor to the president, tweeted.

I would hope that the Democrats can find someone with more appeal; Hillary simply has too much baggage, particularly her association with Slick Willy. It's unfair that she now has to carry the can for what they both got up to, right from the beginning when she was the one who came up with "Gennifer with a 'G'" to discredit Gennifer Flowers, one expert witness to Bill's sexual wanderings when he was still seeking nomination. (Long before we heard from Stormy about Donald's wedding tackle we were told in just as much detail, and under oath, about Slick Willy's crooked willy.)

particularly her association with Slick Willy.
No, I'd say she's made herself unelectable, didn't need any help. Bill has managed to rehabilitate his image with other than the entrenched political wonks. IMO those in the middle of the road (independants, Libertarians) who will determine 2020 will judge her in her own merits.

Stock Market Decline

I thought I had pretty much heard it all when it comes to economics, banking and the workings of the stock market. But, it seems the economic wizard from the Wharton School of Finance has identified the real reason for the decline in the stock market today:

Source: Trump Tweet
Trump Blames 'Prospect Of Presidential Harassment' By Democrats For Stock Market Decline

That must be the real reason why the market tanked and took so long to recover during the Obama presidency, "Presidential Harassment by the Republicans." What goes around comes around as the saying goes.

In 1968, Lyndon Johnson retired from politics, instead of running for President. Every person with any political savvy had to catch their breath. Of all people, for LBJ to not answer the call of grandeur was not of this realm.

He was facing indictment for Fraud, abuse of power, conspiracy to commit fraud, and.....murder. He lost his mind in a mental hospital, and was yelling wildly about how his fellow criminals had let him down, and threatened him with unspeakable things if he ran for re-election.

Hillary will NOT run.

Take that to the bank Dave.

That’s not wrong. Trump is all about making Trump look good. Since Trump looking good depends on America making progress, that works for me. Who cares about Narcissism when it creates benefit for the community. As a former Democrat, I say the end justifies the means.

By the way, has anyone put out book on when Mr. Mueller will issue at least a partial report? I know this will not go directly to the public, but one would imagine that details would leak out rather quickly.

Not a betting man myself, but it is a compelling drama as to when Mueller will present something. Even more interesting is that both sides seem to claim that Mueller is goig to fall on their side -- which is nonsense of course. Rarely does one see such a tight-lipped operation. Just the drip of indictments. He just keeps plugging away.

Btw part II. It all seems to revolve around those who think the Russians are everyone's favorite pals. Look at this example of human effluent: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.9165bf062ac6

Dear old Mr. Trump. He doesn't give up, does he?
Now he is suggesting an illegal or corrupt vote in Florida would be ideal.
" An honest vote count is no longer possible-ballots massively infected. Must go with Election Night! "
My interpretation of that is that there is not and has not been an honest vote, so a dishonest one is preferable. Doesn't he ever think for 30 seconds before he rattles off those Tweets?
