Those that attended were not heads of state
So how does that square with the job descriptions of Macron & Merkel?

Perhaps it is time to again float the Trump aerostat--the one with him in his nappy and holding his mobile.

Macron is President, Merkel isn't, and to some only PRESIDENTS count.

On this day of remembering military sacrifice, the DOD just announced that operation to provide military support at the US/Mexican border has been renamed. The Trump administration originally called it “Operation Faithful Patriot” but it is now called simply "Operation Border Support".

Trump's interest in the caravan 'invasion' has apparently waned MSNBC

A leaked White house memo revealed plans to gradually de-escalate the border issue by continuous changing of the name on a weekly basis to include:

Operation Rocks Painted White
Operation Sure Fooled Them Hick Voters
Operation We Could Be Fighting Fires in California
Operation Thanksgiving Dinner From a Bag
Operation What is the Nuclear Football for $200 Please Alex?

Different venues ....

Macron and Merkel went to Compičgne to participate in a joint French/German ceremony at the site of both Germany's surrender to France at the end of the First World War, and France's surrender to Nazi Germany early in the Second World War.

Trudeau went to Vimy to visit the Canadian Vimy Ridge War Memorial, at the site of a major battle involving great loss of life for Canadian troops.

All three heads of state managed to arrive at their chosen sites in order to partake in ceremonies despite bad weather.

At Aisne-Marne American Cemetery however, instead of Trump, we had White House chief of staff, retired Marine Gen. John Kelly, and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Marine Gen. Joe Dunford. The cemetery is the final resting place of US Marine dead from the Battle of the Belleau Wood, a major battle that stopped the final German offensive of 1918 and one of the relatively few major battles involving US forces in the First World War. (In other words, this ceremony was a big deal.)

My point is that security for a Trump motorcade might have been more burdensome than that for Kelly and Dunford, since they are not heads of state, but that one way or another all three other heads of state, for France, Germany, and Canada, along with Kelly and Dunford, did make their scheduled appearances. I don't care if they variously flew, used a motorcade, hitched a ride in the back of a rusty Citroen Type H hauling fresh garlic, or even had to walk; they all showed up!

This, honoring our national war dead, is one of those things that there really is no excuse for missing, especially on the hundredth anniversary of the Armistice.

We have been treated to the spectacle of Trump, this self-described extremely "militaristic" president, flying to France, having a spat with Macron via twitter just as he was landing, and then sitting back there in Paris while his three fellow heads of state were all out there in the rain carrying out their appointed duties. Okay, to give the man his due he did tweet birthday congratulations to the US Marine Corps, but that's a pretty sorry substitute for showing up at the site of one of their major battles to honor their dead, our dead.

Teach this man how to work an umbrella, and tell him to harden the f*ck up. (Where is Chopper Read when you need him?)

Yep. DT is probably unaware of how bad a look this is.
I am pretty sure that General Kelly and General Dunford would have had to be either in traction in a hospital, or near death's door, to have missed this.
Belleau Wood is a pretty big deal for the Marines.
Semper Fi.
And appropriate to today's date and remembrance:

Only the dead have seen the end of war )

Neither could the previous anointed One, Obama, so he simply had a Marine hold his. Looks a lot more exalted that way, and an opportunity for reversal of slavery.

Oooh - yet more mindless Trump-bashing by the usual lynch mob - right here on JB too!!

Back here on Planet Earth, Trump is widely noted as a true ambassador, who seeks to cause minimal inconvenience during his travels. There were solid operational reasons for him not to follow the primary plan today. But naturally, liberals resumed their cliche'd, brain-dead squarking.

The irony's clearly beyond their slender grasp: Trump's a staunch and consistent supporter of our wonderful men and women in the armed forces, and is respected almost universally across their ranks. Contrast this with Obama, who treated them with overt contempt, and united all branches in their antipathy towards him. (And to interrupt facts with my own recollections - the few times Obama wasn't pouring scorn on the troops he claimed to command, he was applauding violence against our brave police officers. What a nauseating, vile legacy of hatred.)

No surprise that the usual propaganda outlets found themselves yet another way to bash Trump. Does surprise me that liberals continue to lap this up, present what they were just spoon-fed as if it was their own opinion, and continue demanding that the rule of law be overthrown, and democracy itself be abolished. Poignant to note, on this day above all, that armed vigilance against assaults upon liberty by its sworn enemies - domestic and foreign - has never been more important.

But only from afar, 2 years into his Presidency yet he still hasn’t managed to find time in his very busy schedule to visit his troops deployed to any war zones.

" ... Trump is widely noted as a true ambassador ... " how widely and by whom? The guy first did a no-show, and then showed up late for the next ceremony in Paris. I am sure that he did not mind that, but many other people do seem to mind. Not you, Crepello, and the rest of that 42% of us who probably should have paid more attention in school, but you might not represent as much of our country as you think that you do. (I like Cheetos, but I wouldn't want to eat a whole bag of them at once.)

Obama ... did you ever get straight on his birth certificate? And how about those 30,000 e-mails of Hillary's? Yes, yes ....

Is that some kind of joke? Any POTUS does a great deal of discomfitting when he travels. There is simply a wide swath that is cut.

What a crock, LOL! Tell this to the folks that live in Bedminster NJ or Palm Beach FL who absolutely hate to see him coming. He is more widely noted as an arrogant, self-serving prick, who doesn't care about anybody's inconvenience when traveling. Trump is all about Trump and that's it!

Obamalove? Simply discrediting your #FAKENEWS/#ALTFACT statement that Obama couldn’t open an umbrella.

As for your outrage over Obama having someone holding an umbrella for him...

Marines
He's hosting a foreign head of state, I thought Americans prided themselves on being good hosts? The leader of the free world should just leave a guest to soak so some loons on the Internet can't have a go at him?

And someone here said it was about 'reversing slavery'. How far gone are some people here? Its frightening. Genuinely since I assume they have access to guns.

There's a lovely photo out there of Trump beaming like a star crossed lover when Putin arrived today. Meanwhile Macron and Merkel look like they want to tear his throat out. I know which I prefer in my leader...

Look, I I get it, no-one likes to accept they were hoodwinked. People lash out at the other side rather than admit how completely wrong they were. It's basic human psychology. Alas basic human psychology has led to some pretty despicable regimes in the past. And as thick as Trump is, he has advisors who know enough about all that to know which buttons to press in a lot of people to get them to support everything they previously claimed to be against.

Some here really need to take a step back. This man is bringing facism to America. To such an open extent he can't even be bothered to honour its war dead. Ask yourselves if maybe the battle is there and and not with some strangers on the Internet who are merely pointing out the very alarming and obvious warning signs. Frankly it's the duty of any decent human being to point out what is clearly unfolding.

It's a shame, I was in California recently and it's a wonderful part of the world. Sadly suffering greatly right now. And I invite you to see how the President of their country reacted to that suffering, only to be corrected by the Passadena fire department. But of course there will be excuses for that.

Ps. You know that elite you all despise? Trump is it.

Fake news! I'm sure the same guy who did those false flag bomb attacks a few weeks ago put that failing photoshop effort together.

Seems to be a presidential thing, Clinton kept all traffic at a standstill at, I think, SFO one day whilst he had a haircut!

Former FBI chief James Comey ‘misused private email’

Many blamed Hillary Clinton’s defeat in the 2016 presidential election on how the investigation into the use of her private email server was handled by James Comey, the former FBI director. Now documents have emerged that, according to the New York Post, suggest that Mr Comey himself used a private email account to discuss sensitive government business.

In the four years that he spent in the role before he was fired by President Trump in May last year Mr Comey discussed FBI-related matters with his chief of staff via his private Gmail account in messages that covered about 1,200 pages, the newspaper reported. It obtained 156 pages of the correspondence but was denied access to at least seven more, which the Department of Justice (DoJ) characterised as too sensitive to be released because they could “disclose techniques and procedures for law enforcement investigations or prosecutions”. Another 363 pages of emails were withheld because they were related to agency communications or may have led to personal privacy concerns.

The emails surfaced as the result of a lawsuit filed under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by the Cause of Action Institute, a conservative watchdog group. Mr Comey’s use of a personal email to conduct government business was revealed by the DoJ earlier this year but he has insisted that he did not use the account for sensitive or classified information.

John Vecchione, chief executive of Cause of Action, said: “We’re deeply concerned that the FBI withheld numerous emails citing FOIA’s law enforcement exemption. This runs counter to Comey’s statements that his use of email was incidental and never involved any sensitive matters.”........

It would seem there's a new chapter in the Guiness Book of Records, one dedicated to the White House and "list of implausible excuses "...the latest entry being that the always considerate Donald didn't want to cause a traffic jam in Paris.......the one in France, not Tx to avoid any confusion here.

Possibly he's never had the pleasure of attempting to drive or be driven in and around Paris for the rest of the year......
