And then there is the damage "environmental protection" regulation has gone to the Central Valley agriculture-bankrupting farmers, hundreds of thousand acres lie fallow, unemployment double the national average as tens of thousands of jobs gone. It's a fought just like the ones in Russia--created by men with good intentions. Yes, California like the entire left coast, jackboots in sandals.

Vapilot2004

I try to avoid close association with one-party nations, like NorK, Russia, China, California. At least in the DPRM, we've had some Republican governors, a strong constitution written by John Adams which prevents progressive taxation. I'd leave for FL or TX in a minute if the Secretary of War didn't object. Might anyway.

Newspaper headlines today out here in la la land:

"But on top of the latest damage, the nations most populous state is struggling with a $6 Billion annual backlog of repairs for roads, highways and bridges that leaders can't agree on a way to fund"

They sure know how to spend surpluses, on anything but what needs to be done.

Jerry Brown and his toy train set, funded by "climate credits" while the state falls apart around him.

Sure VAP, hold him and the legislature up as shiny examples, of absolute fiscal mismanagement.

You know it's easier to hire someone to go work overseas than it is to work in CA, no you wouldn't.

Byzantine and costly business licensing procedures.
Asinine building, commercial and residential, codes, the list goes on and on.

This state is slowly turning Republican, anything would be better than this current crop of clowns.

Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi are the poster kids for this state.

This was explained in a press conference by his staff ..... do pay attention
Loma

I asked where his tweet of outrage was. As to his staff they gave us the lies about fake terror attacks so why believe them about a fake show of concern.

passed out 1,000 red-white-and-blue Russian flags before Donald Trumpís speech at the conservative confab in Maryland on Friday. Audience members scooped them up and waved them enthusiastically as Trump railed against the media. H
Does not speak well for Trumpet's supporter's intellect or their respect for the Constitution, but lives up to expectations.

I vote Republican because I'm anti-choice, like all my friends.
[now she'll have a fourth child to bring up on the tiny bit of money she and her husband have left after I've exploited and taxed them to hell ho-ho!]
Except on schools - Dad can easily afford to send us all to Columbia.
Guns? - we have an armed chauffeur and live in a gated complex. Or do you mean Scotland?
Smoking? - I just steal Dads cigars
Unions? - I belong to ΦΒΚ
Light-bulbs? - what are they?
Plastic bags? - mine are from Hermes...
Walmart? - what's that?
Food? - well I do prefer Sevruga really
Thank goodness for that awful man Trump - at least he'll keep those smelly tree-huggers away!

I vote Republican because I'm anti-choice & love Jesus
Trump said he gonna give us a baby-shower!
Guns? - Yup, I'm gonna join the militia (and try to do it to them before they do it to me)!
Smoking? - I don't smoke, useta' but they cost so durn much even fer rollin'
Unions? - Our shop don't allow Unions, (and if they did the union bosses would just pocket the money)
Light-bulbs? - Last one blew las' week so we'm usin' candles now.
Plastic bags? - Waddaya think I'm wearing honey?
Walmart? - I swear, everytime I go there it costs more
Food? - You ever tried puttin food on the table for a man and three young'uns? I take whats left.
Yep, but you wait 'n see - Trump'll open the fact'ries again, get rid of all the Spics and Ayrabs and it's gonna be just like the ol' days again!

Ah me...

Sultan,

I think you'll find Maryland is deep blue, probably just former coummunists and fellow traveler's with the flags.

Then we have the oh so democratic and diverse nature if the one-party state of California where criticizing Tom Hayden gets one thrown out of the Senate.

Orange County Sen. Janet Nguyen forcibly removed from Senate floor for criticizing late Tom Hayden's stance on Vietnam War - The Orange County Register

Why? Because you asked

If you have you mind made up there is no need to fish for a response.

I'm just happy that Trump shut off his tweeter and let somebody with communication skills speak to the public.

Terror in NO

A suspected drunken driver crashed into another vehicle before plowing into a Mardi Gras parade crowd in New Orleans Saturday, injuring nearly 30 people, authorities said.
They have not released the id of the arrested, but being drunk does not bode well for the Trumpers praying he is Muslim.

De Leon being out of the senate on a Thursday, now why should that surprise anyone.

These so called politicians, bought and paid for by the unions, aren't worth the shoe leather they wear.

Weak response as it was at CPAC which is 100% alt-right or fake Christians. Even they are allowed to cross borders, though I do not know why this is allowed.

This is why you're a troll. Offer an argument, not something you know to be wrong and posted only to be inflammatory.

I as well would have liked for Frum to have laid out the Russia and China argument in more detail. Although his conservative bona fides are not to be doubted, he does realize that such an accusation, or hint, requires a robust backing of evidence. His other points were well taken however.

Yes Harris expresses a preference (I would not say bias necessarily) he always allows his guests ample time (up to two hours in some cases) to correct him should he be wrong.

I savour the rationality of the debates he brings to the topic.

I have been told many times that all the immigration laws the U.S. needs are already on the books.

With that said, it seems that irrespective of where a U.S. citizen sits on the matter that immigration is a colossal mess. With e-verify it would seem that an employer could easily check on a prospective employee.

Money talks the loudest then...employers are certainly not paying some taxes on many employees. Is that not dishonest? Does that not just increase the tax load for everyone else? Ah...but the employers get cheap labor and the authorities rarely enforce it. A big win for the Chamber of Commerce chaps.

In turn the populace likes paying less for things even though taxes are not being paid and thus a cost to all.

If there were ever something begging to be rationalized this would be it. What can realistically be done? What is it that the U.S. citizens want? Cheap labor and goods and services? If so, why even have the laws on the books? Why are they there and what good are they?

Seems to be a tough question. Are there any answers?

Btw...why do you bloody well call people undocumented if they are in the country illegally?

I stand in the crew line for quite some time upon each arrival to be fingerprinted/scanned and yet I can enter the country illegally and get a driver's license? Seriously? What gives?

Up until 1994 in la la land illegals could get a CA DL.
Then it was stopped.
For 10+ years there was one CA assemblyman that presented AB 60 every year, and every year it failed.

He was christened "one bill Gill" by the conservative talk show circuits because that was the only bill he ever brought forward.
Fast forward to 2013, to a lot of folks surprise it passed, and Governor Brown signed it.
Originally it was going to be exactly the same as everyone else's license, but I believe the Feds stepped in and said no, it has to be different or we won't accept it as a nationwide ID.

Anyway, some of the excuses floated for allowing them to obtain licences were they would be better drivers, not. They would be able to buy insurance, not very damned many.

We pay "uninsured motorist" insurance premiums to cope with this issue.
In an traffic accident with an illegal immigrant with no injuries to either party? They just get out of their car, if they speak English it's "no insurance" if their car is drivable, off they go.
Accident their fault, your insurance goes up.
Now you know why Warren Buffet owns insurance companies.

On another topic:

For folks interested enough to see how your State vote for whichever party is bought and paid for, take a look at this site:

Designed to fail. That appears to be the standard of governance, locally and nationally....
I have thought for some time that ObamaCare was passed to fail in 2017, so Hillary could come to the rescue with "HillaryCare" in 2017, something that failed miserably, and cost her husband a lot at the polls in 1996....

Hillary lost. Figure in expectations, and she didn't just lose, she crashed and burned. Both Hillary and Obama are still campaigning, on the down low, to derail the Trumpster....

The Democrats elected a new leader, an establishment tool who quickly anointed the Black Nationalist Racist Keith Ellison as his lieutenant....

I was pulling for Ellison. Maybe the Dems actually did notice how badly they lost this time around.
