Hempy,

It ended in the SCOTUS, didn't begin there. I agree that the Court had no business intervening, the Florida Legislature should have selected the electors to represent the state at the Electoral College.

The five Repugnants voted for the Repugnant guy. The other four voted for the other guy.

A classic example of why any society should never politicise a Justiciary.
But how do we know which way they will vote?

Suppose we nominate Trump ... which way would he vote D or R ??

come to think of it, how about myself .... only I don't know which way I would have voted without seeing the facts

Pretty savvy move on the part of the Democrats. If they tie up some swing states with recounts, that are not complete but just officially in motion right when the Electoral College meets in December to cast their votes that will determine whether or not Trump remains president-elect for real, then...oh dear.

If these recounts go forward (never mind if the recount produces different results as a result of epic fiddling OR simply an honest counting mistake) this could create chaos the likes of which might make the hanging chads look like a scout weenie roast.

If even one of these key states being targeted produces a result different from the original and redirects its electoral votes to Clinton rather than Trump, then the whole system comes under suspicion--not just one state.

Not just a hail mary by the Dems. But instead a serious threat. This apparenetly is their back up plan; and so far it's working since one state has agreed to a recount. The chaos that would be unleashed as a result of electoral votes being redirected would be epic.

And the news organizations who still call themselves respectable need now to truth squad where the $5 million for the recount cost came from. Donations? Okay. From whom? We need to know.

Not that it makes a difference to the recount going forward as is their apparent right--unless it's a foreign body that is forbidden by Federal law from making donations for U.S. political purposes. Ergo, we need to know who's bankrolling it.

But then, I'm a catastrophist. :-))

Ah, the second amendment solution! The president-elect did mention that when he feared he was losing.

If we are going to recount some, we should recount all the states. Including the Hillary winning ones.

Snigger........ From The Times......

"........In the US, some of the Trump campaign’s own merchandise has invited criticism, in particular a $149 Christmas-tree ornament in the shape of a “Make America Great Again” baseball cap. A reviewer on Amazon complained: “When you press it, it sings ‘I’m Dreaming of a Totally White Christmas’.”......"

6 months ago he was a Democrat mole...

Personally, I think he's just waiting til December before he rips off his humanoid mask and shows everyone that he's actually an alien flesh eatimg lizard.

I just hope his spaceship entered the country legally or things could get awkward.

“Upon closer observation, it becomes apparent that every strong upsurge of power in the public sphere, be it of a political or a religious nature, infects a large part of humankind with stupidity. … The power of the one needs the stupidity of the other. The process at work here is not that particular human capacities, for instance, the intellect, suddenly atrophy or fail. Instead, it seems that under the overwhelming impact of rising power, humans are deprived of their inner independence and, more or less consciously, give up establishing an autonomous position toward the emerging circumstances. The fact that the stupid person is often stubborn must not blind us to the fact that he is not independent. In conversation with him, one virtually feels that one is dealing not at all with him as a person, but with slogans, catchwords, and the like that have taken possession of him. He is under a spell, blinded, misused, and abused in his very being."
That was written by a fellow in a Nazi Prison during Hitler's time....but it reminds me of the too many Democrats/Liberals/BLM types today. Perhaps, the Election may have done more than just alter the national discourse....it might have actually altered the pathway we were headed had a non-stablishment Candidate not won.

The Republicans are aware they lost contact with the people and are going to look for a way to reconnect....while the Democrats are making like a cattle stampede running off in the night becoming even far more Leftist.....exactly the wrong thing to do for sure.

SASless, the man you quote is Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Do a little research into his background and you'll quickly discover that he was opposed to just about everything that you and your alt-right kin stand for.

I can almost hear him turning in his grave at your attempt to associate his name with your ideals.

No, he was a Democrat 'pied piper', according to the email leaks. The Democrats apparently got their friends in the media to promote him to be the Republican candidate because Clinton knew she could beat him.

Just another reason she might have won if she didn't have the media as her personal lapdogs.

Murrica

In a broad brush kind of way, the progressive left take care of our propaganda.
But propaganda needs a landing pad, those millions of landing pads are constructed by our public schools...

The conservative right seem to have burnished their world view from experience....constructed by themselves....

The lesson of course is, "who will create your destiny"? The State? Or individual experience?

Hills is out of hiding....and is going to have some folks "Witness" a recount in a few States.

Odd...it had to be Stein to demand a recount...when she had a whopping 1-2% of the vote was it?

Folks....the Woman conceded....threw in the towel....gave up....admitted defeat...said she LOST!

Shades of Gore except this time it was not just one State that mattered.

What's Stein's game?

She is stalking horse for peak progressives, but what's the end game?
