Oops, you did call President Obama a clown, now I may have to report that.
Its called denigrating a minority group, and clearly unacceptable, clowns have feellings too.

No holiday for FBI agents this 4th of July weekend.

There are rumors flying all over the internet that the FBI has cancelled all leave for all agents this 4th of July weekend. But no rumors about a creditable threat.

But I cannot confirm this, anybody else hear anything?

Yeah con, the local LA TV news mentioned this yesterday with respect to LAPD and NYPD being in a state of heightened preparedness. No specific threat was apparent. An LAPD spokesman mentioned something about Independence day being an iconic holiday and therefore a potential target time frame for terrorist activity.

Here in LA the cops go on what's called "tactical alert" under certain circumstances such as massive rioting or certain pro basketball games. During tactical alert situations it's all hands on deck. Hell sometimes they even open the special emergency coordination center so the mayor and all the city department head types have somewhere to be seen doing something. No mention of that here though. I'm sure they all have better things to do. Just "heightened preparedness" or whatever...

The USA really is becoming a third world country as far as just is concerned. At least in most its just the traffic cops looking for a few dollars....

Drug cops took a college kid’s savings and now 13 police departments want a cut

From ORAC's link
Clarke's cash, which says he he spent five years saving up, was seized under civil asset forfeiture, where cops are able to take cash and property from people who are never convicted of -- and in some cases, never even charged with -- a crime.

Very similar procedure in the UK.

I think, repeat think there is a case coming up in front of the Supreme Court that questions the Constitutionality of these seizure laws.

For the government to keep the funds there must be a conviction. This thing has gotten out of control.

I hope so. It has gotten way out of hand, not to mention "it is against the law to have more than x thousand in cash on your person."

Wait a sec, I'm not a drug lord, why is my mattress stuffing illegal?

Am I the only one to feel that Hilary Clinton has gone into stealth mode over the last week or two? Maybe I haven't been watching the news as often as I usually do, but I haven't heard a squeak from or about her.

The Hildebeest doesn't have to do anything. The only opposition to her nomination is coming from a senile old communist sympathizer. She's simply holding her cards for now (and gathering boatloads of cash).

Though the plan may backfire, I think her campaign figures "the less said, the better".

Yes.

By the way, this story is a few months old. Here in Texas, the governor responded to the idiocy about an exercise (Emerald gold or some such, a national guard mobilization drill) that it was not any attempt to take over Texas and that the Texas National Guard was benefitting a great deal from the training.

That doesn't stop the odd balls from foaming at the mouth. Nothing will. There is still deep resentment in many corners of Texas that the Feds (which included soldiers from Fort Hood, not just Texas Guard soldiers) were involved in that idiotic Waco mess that ATF made. You may be interested to know that General Wesley Clark was at the time stationed at Fort Hood. The excuse given for use of Federal troops (which is seen by some as a violation of the posse comitatus act) was a linkage to "the war on drugs" and the precedent already set to use the military to support that federal effort.

While these whack jobs are annoying, they can point to a no fooling case of the Feds overstepping the law of the land in that case, at least.

Of course, as I like to point out, we have numerous Federal installations here in Texas that bring a lot of benefit to both Texas and the nation.
Fort Hood. A half dozen military bases around San Antonio. Houston/Nasa. Corpus Christ/Kingsville (Naval Air Training and the Army Depot that fixes helicopters). Fort Bliss. Carswell.

FFS, the Feds are all over Texas every day.
They conveniently overlook that when their cousin goes to work each day at Randolph Air Force Base, of course.

Must have "misunderstood" the question. Note the article is in the NYT, selected so no one would smear the article as part of the vast right wing conspiracy.

Talking about Hillary, which I'm not, I wonder just how many people know that Jim Webb is also running for the Democratic Party's nomination.

You'd never know it from NBC reporting, it is all Hillary.

Agreed, the story about Hillary and the subpoena wasn't anywhere on the NBC web page when I opened it.

Nor will you hear or see anything about Jim Webb, but they mention Bernie Sanders all the time.

That I cannot figure out, NBC must stand for Nobody But Clinton.

Trump and Sanders are talking about jobs for Americans.
So they will have 47 percent of the electorate, that 47 percent who do no want work, will be voting against them

I see Baltimore's Police Chief just got fired by the Mayor, for basically carrying out the Mayor's orders. Homicides are still doubled due to a Police rank-and-file reluctance to be pro-active (and I don't blame them). Wonder if this will make any difference?
