Marvellous.
I've remembered my password at long last.
Partial to a glass or two of ginger beer myself. There was a time when I would have made it myself but being one of them filthy rich baby boomers I just get Harrods to send a hamper of the stuff now.
It's been a beautiful day up here in Fifedom but there is snow on the floor and it is piggin cold.
I've been out dog following with the hound and Mrs HF whose feet got so cold that she suggested a stop half round at the pub.
Being a gentleman what could I do ....

Hopefully Mrs FF is ok now funfly

I flew back from Australia with two young ladies who were ecstatic when we flew over the Atlas Mountains in North Africa and they were covered in snow - the first snow that either had ever seen (though Australia does have its own Snowy Mountains - where snow normally falls the most during June, July and early August).

funfly: best wishes to Mrs FF.

Eight hours in the waiting room is bad enough at any time of the day, but midnight to dawn when your nearest and dearest is poorly is just awful.

I don't buy newspapers - I never have (apart from our local weekly rag - but now I just read it in the library for free.

I get my news from the BBC.

I realise that it's not perfect, so, occasionally - like tonight - I search the online newspaper websites.
Each time I do this I end up disenchanted as they all seem to be sensationalising the story rather than reporting straight facts.

Can anyone recommend an unbiased alternative?

I'm afraid I have yet to discover one these days. The old dependable and reliable press seems to have vanished.

I see that according to Ann Summers Newcastle is the 4th Kinkiest city in the U.K. Amazingly Liverpool is only 5th and Manchester 12th

One has returned from the Orient, and one is tired even though I had a fully relining seat on the evier than air machine.

That be a proper fowling piece Amiral Sir, though I would refrain from test firing it lest the local constable becometh annoyed. Might be a tad large for rabbiting.

As a muzzle-loader (with a significantly-sized - and weight of almost a ton - projectile), how did they avoid premature ejaculation?

Also, I have always believed that rifling relied on forming grooves in the projectile, so how did they load it? Were the grooves already machined in?

Morning peeps, cold and clear here, I thought artillery shells had a soft copper ring around the base that deformed and engaged with the rifling upon firing Mr G-C.

What sort do you get, mostly?
The completely invisible kind, SSK ... we don't get any at all. Maybe I should register a protest!

In response to G-CPTNs request for an honest, reliable news source.

A year ago I might have recommended a fairly new one in the US with a definitely Middle Eastern sounding name, but in just a year it has become as lame and slanted as most of the other sources on which I rely.

What I do is go to the portal known as Drudge Report and click and click under the links to many news sources from all over the globe and try to make some sense out of various reports.

It has become my sad belief that in the US, the "news media" have failed to function as they did years ago and are essentially a meaningless source of accurate information.
