It would be equally wrong to assume that non-gun owners are by definition anti-gun. As a non-gun owner, I have no problem at all with my friends, neighbors and colleagues owning guns.

I grew up with guns, was taught to handle them safely and respectfully, have owned them in the past but choose not to now. I want every law abiding citizen to have the same right.

Why is that concept so difficult to understand?

I understand it.
I wouldn't want guns to be as freely available here in the UK - there are already many illegally-held guns in circulation (many of them converted) - but that is a separate issue.

I have more difficulty understanding the casual attitude towards shooting people which is constantly exhibited by a small but active group of Americans in Jetblast.
I'm sure some or all of them would reject the description 'casual' but that is what they exhibit by what they post.
It may just be 'internet bravado' - I don't know them personally so can't tell.

But first transfer the picture to the "outrage bus" thread and change "rob store" to "steal from a garage".

It varies ....

At one time I had an M16A1 and 400 rounds of ammunition in my locker next to my bed, ready to fight off the Communist hordes, but the US Air Force got them first.

Another time, when it really mattered, all I had was an M14 and 20 rounds, waiting for anyone to show up from an old rubber plantation across from where our deuce-and-a-half had come down with a flat front tire.

I had been thinking about buying a nice S&W .357 magnum with a 4-inch solid rib barrel, in nickel, but instead I left Miami. I guess that one doesn't count.

Then there was the time I had a 1918 Luger and about 20 rounds of 1943-issue ammo, expecting the Lagos Mafia to come calling, the Ikeja Branch.

Another locker at another time held a police-model 12-gauge, a Mossberg 500 loaded with 00-buckshot rounds, still waiting for the Lagos Mafia, the Isolo Branch this time.

Now, no Communist hordes, no Lagos Mafia, so no guns! Well, aside from a .177 air rifle, only good for target shooting.

The last time I shot a gun was at a fun fair. I wiped out three little plastic discs with a .22, bang-bang-bang, and won a paper rose for my wife ... her hero!

So, I have nothing against guns per se, but I don't think I would like to have to shoot someone. I will settle for a bit of light trolling now and then, thank you very much!

Here in Germany, yes, everyone is expected to sit down to pee. Well, everyone with some breeding!

In the States, just the liberals do that, I guess. Any liberals here to answer that question? No?

Possibly to avoid looking at what remains crouched on the viewing platform?

that happens when taking a dump, SRT, not a pee!

chuks:

Sitting down to pee in Germany must be a new thing because when I lived over yonder I never sat to pee and no one said anything about it.
The only time a Frauelein I was together with at the time had anything to say about my peeing was the time we were in the South of France and I didn't really know what the function of a bidet was (uncultured American and all that) so decided it was used for peeing in.

I think she said something along the lines of: Du bist schrecklich. Was ist mit dir? Or some such loving sentiments.

You never met my wife, obviously! In the old house, our quarters were in a renovated attic with a peaked roof. Standing to pee had me cocking my head sideways due to the slanted ceiling being right there. When I complained, Her Indoors told me that I was expected to sit, not to stand, that her previous flame, Mr Perfect except for the way he ran away, did that.

Jeez, Brick! We are going to send this drip overseas? He should be send down to spend some time with the Boudreaux clan first, to harden him up a bit. Otherwise I see him re-enacting the love scene from Deliverance, playing the city feller.

Hence the reference to remains not suitable for viewing while standing up having a slash. Of course, if you get your jollies by trying to hose away the skid marks with the weak dribble common to wearers of pink tutus, fill yer boots!

See what I did there...?

Yes, SRT, I see what you did there.

However, I shall remain for all of eternity in the vertical position whilst peeing. If done correctly this also enables the pee-er to make little designs in the toilet bowl while splashing ones' urine around. (Not to be mistaken for the designs one can construct after a night of eating Chimchangas.)

I believe you folks are operating from a position of Bias based upon false information which you have not endeavored to confirm.

Liberals of the Male plumbed variety stand with one foot in the Loo and Piddle down their Leg so that their Significant Other does not have to listen to the Splashing Sounds. This practice negates the argument about the Default Position of the Seat as well as eliminating collateral damage.

Some would call that being "Hen Pecked" but the Male Liberal describes it as being "Considerate".

Which is why, Bob, I also have rounds off target and, on occasion mind you, create designs on the toilet seat as well. But to be considerate, and not have the Mrs. wind up with a wet ass, I do some mop up operations afterwards.

* the rounds off target are usually precipitated by copious amounts of either Spaten or Paulaner beer.

US: Black man stopped for having hands in pockets - World - NZ Herald News

Here we go again, of what possible interest is it to anyone in this country if someone in America is stopped by a policeman for having his hands in his pockets?? Ah of course, we can play the race card again. We do not have to go to America for examples of the "Race Card" being played. We have many examples in our own country, and it always seems to be coming from white apologists.
