Happy Birthday to the US Marines. Semper Fi! Where every man is a rifleman, like every American should be.

Why? Are you afraid of something?

I certainly wouldn't be, if every American was a Marine.

Just saw this chart (from 2012), not making any comments; it is what it is:

Gun ownership per 100 people;

USA 88.88, Yemen 54.8, Switzerland 45.7, Finland 45.3, Serbia 37.8 for the Top 5.

Others of note in the top 24 listed Iraq 34.2, Canada 30.8, New Zealand 22.6.

Actually what would be interesting is to normalize the statistics as individuals holding guns, not number of guns.

With no registration laws and criminals pretty much by definition answering "no" to that question it's unlikely to be able to get any real idea. The closest I can find is a "households with guns" figure year on year for the US:
http://www.gunpolicy.org/firearms/co..._with_firearms
It's not really comparable for other countries due to the reasons stated above, but any confounds like that are likely to be consistent, so it is reasonable to say there is a year-on-year decline in numbers.

How very unconstitutional. How did y'all let that slip through?

He said Marine, not soldier. US Marines are not soldiers, US Army soldiers are.

I'm sure West Coast will verify this!

The pathology that exists in the US today should be reason enough to prevent people from owning firearms. A violent, drug and alcohol abusing, self centered, confused, scared and largely uneducated citizenry should not be trusted with weaponry.

The US by most measures is a broken country. Education, health, infant mortality, crime, homicide, wealth divide. The average joe in the street is largely unaware of most issues and is clueless that the ruling elite is taking them for a ride.

The statistics speak for themselves.
