Why Nigeria? There are so many other countries in the world with similar economic/social situations; why are all these scammers coming out of Nigeria?
Nigerians smuggle drugs, commit credit card fraud and are involved in just about every internet scam there is, from befriending lonely people on internet dating sites and asking for money to blackmail, threats and promises of money transfers.
If only they could channel their energies into legitimate activities instead.

I had a gem today...
I'm wondering where I can meet some of these fraud stars. Benin, or "the global", I suppose.
It's quite a good exchange rate: I send him "only" $69 dollar and in return I will (not) receive my inheritance of $10.5M.000.
Keep it up, Capetonian!

I had a nice Nigerian man email asking me to send him 100$ by Western Union and he promised me 1,000,000 US$.
I sent him the money and I received 1Million US $ within a week.
So it worked for me, you've gotta trust these Nigerian people you know.

Madam moosp was brought up in Nigeria and informs me that nearly all the scammers are Ibo from the northern part. Ibo become one of Army Generals, nightclub bouncers or scam artists is her contention.
She refers to anything that looks a bit suspect such as a very cheap wine or a too good to be true offer as a 419, which I like as it has a ring to it. Even suspect people are given the moniker.

419 apparently has its origin in the number of the article of the Nigerian penal code which makes 'advance fee fraud' illegal. Farcical really.
No news today from my friend, at least there was none this morning when I last checked that email account.

Exciting news!
It seems that I have just won a BMW 7 series car and a check(?) for $500,000.
Or at least that's what the title of the email suggests. I wonder if I could get them to swap it for an M4 ? Anyway it's sitting in an e-mail folder entitled "spam"

Cape, I think you should tell your friend that you could transfer some of the funds from the last scammers bank account that is trapped in Nigeria.
You should give him the proper details, sort of like a feeding on its self so to speak.

One is greatly surprised that due to the tolerance levels of Westerners to Nigerian scammers being so extensive, that a large number of Nigerian internet cafes haven't been thoroughly bombed on a regular basis.
However, one of these days, one of these Nigerian scammers will scam an N'drangheta/Camorra/Mafia thug, and hopefully, a real hitman will arrive at his door.

No news from my mate so far, so I've sent him a gentle poke with a stick.....
Monday is here, no news from you, clearly you're all talk and no walk. A pathetic little cowerd who just makes idyll threats.
My neighbour has gone into town to do the intanational bank transfer as you were too scared to get the money picked up, but we're waiting until we hear from you.
My priest said a mass for you yesterday, and you need to go to confession.

He's replied .......
Hello
I know your English is not very good, but I don't understand: "Until the end of the day we ill complete our work". I thought you would compleat your work properly, and I am weighting to hear that you've done so. I think you may find your 'boys' have let you down, perhaps you should employ better boys, but I know it's hard to get the labour these days.
Now, what 'slip' do you want me to forward to your email? Please ex-plane this.
I am glad to see you are being a bit more polite now in your communickations with me. I expect if you had bad dreams it's because God is angry with you. I'll get the Priest to say more prayers for you.
My boys are at work, and I went for other job given to me yesterday, so I am about to finish the job in next two hour, I hope we can finish our deal. so i wait for your response.
I am not going to threat you or make stupid words anymore, I got work to do here, Until the end of the day we ill complete our work, I have bad dreams yesterday, but I got go work to do here with another partner, just make the payment and forward the slip to my mail. Thanks

Thanks for the entertainment, cape1.
What glue do germans use?- Boche-stick
What glue do Africans use? Ibo-stick.
For those not familiar, the two best-known UK brands of contact-adhesive are Evo-stik and Bostick.

The fake bank transfer is ready to go, but I'm going to make him sweat a bit for it ........
Well it seem's like you've waisted another day. Anyway my neighbour been down to the bank and they are ready with the transfer but they need your 'phone number and identity/passport document to verify for the transfer. You must scam it and send it by email, I don't understand what this is, probably you understand how to do it.
Get that done snappy like and you'll have the money. Then you can f*** off out of our lives.

Surprisingly, I haven't heard from matey today, so either he's run out of filthy dirty Naira notes for the internet cafe, he's busy doing another 'job', or he's realised I'm winding him up. Oh....... and the day's nearly over and the 'boys' haven't turned up on my doorstep.

If you ever meet him, chop him up and send the pieces back to his mates.
These people aren't poor, destitute, they are very well set up, live in nice houses all be it with mattresses on the floor,
drive nice cars and are as ruthless as hell !

It may be very different in the case of those who live in Nigeria.
They are all evil loathsome scum, preying on the weak and gullible, and nothing is too bad for them.
