Evenin all.

Family day today, most hectic.

Then have just finished with roast beef, yorkies, roast spuds, calliflower and carrots.

joy ride - Goddards were a bit naughty. Their building was going to be closed down but they successfully argued it was part of Old Greenwich (so to speak). The building was saved and they promptly flogged it at a vast profit. It miffed all the campaigners who had fought to save it!

Café Sol is being closed down as well.

You seem to know about Greenwich. Are we neighbours?

Fun little ride completed at Rushmere

Drove past a car in a ditch. No, I was not being heartless, there were plenty of folks around them.

Good day all. Yes sunny again.

Heard the own goal by the Maccums was a cracking shot.

Last week starts on the morrow. Will be glad to get home, for how long no one seems to know.

We used to get what was called The Channels when we got orders for home, you begin to sort your gear and pack your kit a month before you see the Eddystone Light.

Morning folks. Bit dark out there. The IF called at ohfourFS and have tried counting sheep, doing sodUK puzzles to try and get back to sleep. Have now given up.

Have downloaded latest OS update from the Apple - can't say I'm totally overwhelmed. Suppose I'll get used to it.

Off to the canal this morning - apparently we'll be shovelling silt - i think that's what the man said.

Morning all.
The IF seem to be fairly active in the East Midlands. I had an awful night of trying to sleep

Picked this up on the Disused Railway Stations web-site.

Trumpers Crossing Halt

Wonder if it was always windy around there?

Morning folks.

There is the wonderful sound of electonic tile cutting in the air.

Have discovered a train that runs six times a day direct from Blackpool North to Liverpool South Parkway ( for airport) and vice versa, so Mrs IB is happy again and will be using that route to visit her mother, now Blackpool is no more. I am instructed to book flights for early December.

A ship losing power whilst passing through the Pentland Firth! Radio Orkney report:
The coastguard tug is currently dealing with a cargo ship that has lost power in the Pentland Firth. The Herakles was sent to the assistance of the 95m long 'Nicola', which is carrying a load of coal, last night. It reported engine failure just before half past ten after passing through the Firth. It began drifting back eastwards after losing power. The Herakles left Kirkwall soon after and is currently on scene, around five miles north of Dounreay, to attach a line and tow the stricken vessel into Scrabster harbour.

Good day all.

Belated greetings to the new voices.

Guess is for 30 again today, 'twas windy overnight but warm like something breathing on one.

A watery sunrise, cue The Kinks nearly.

Ah what it is to be ancient. It struck me last night that this is a predominantly aged forum, little of the youth of today frequents aqui.

I haven't seen any evidence of that.

Where those have indicated their age they are predominantly, I did not say all, over 50, aged therefore and wise too.

Morning all, forecasting gales for tonight. Well overdue one. Our gannets have nearly all gone now, funny how you can miss them.

I've just been listening to the wireless and the news of the demise of Lynda Bellingham to the big C. One brave lady.

Ibbie, there are direct trains from Manchester Airport to Blackpool North as well.

http://www.tpexpress.co.uk/mediafile...ec2014_web.pdf

It takes about the same length of time.
I assume you probably already knew about these trains though and picked LPL for a reason.

One brave lady
She certainly was. I'm sure I couldn't have been as stoic about as she was.

Oops, sorry Wodrick. I've just realised my age(72) isn't shown on the left.

My post was tongue very firmly in cheek.
