I bought one a couple of months ago when I first read about this. I like to know what's about.

It's pretty good actually, but "best" is subjective of course and depends on your own individual palate and taste. I still have a few "favourites".

According the title of "Best single malt" is as ridiculous as making an award for "Best red wine". There is no such thing as "Best" and I'm fond of several varieties - Aberlour and Talisker are at the top of my list but are by no means the only ones. It all depends on how you're feeling today, and what you've been eating.

As Wholigan says, best is subjective.

Some like Highland malts, some like Western Isles, some like blended shite. There are even those that like Irish, English, Welsh, American or Japanese. Some like it straight, some with ice, some with water and some with water and ice.

As far as I am concerned the best whisky in the world is my favourite drunk the way I like it

You forgot us blasphemous hedonists what mixes the earth juices with coke, diet to be exact.

And I don't give a flying what anybody thinks about it. My drink, paid for it, will mix it with anything I please. So, thanks.

But I don't ever drink anything but ...... where's the coat and hat? ........ Uncle Jack.

See ya!

My Old Man told me, 'never drink whisky without water and never drink water without whisky'. Works for me.

SMT, you're quite right, drink it as you please. All I say to people is that they're wasting their money killing the taste of, say, a 15yo Longrow if they dump coke in it, or even ice.

Best Single Malt? The one in my glass, at any given time.

The "pubic triangle" is also applied to a group of 3 lapdance bars in Edinburgh, although I suppose these days pubes don't feature much. Edinburgh also features a pink triangle of bars.

Has to be an islay for me. Ardbeg pretty hard to go past IMO. But being an Aussie, there is a twinge of pride in there, have to be doing ok to knock of a few pretty good whiskies.

Best bottle I've ever had was Ardbeg Ugedail. Probably spelt wrong.

It's the one I was most pleased to share with others too. Truly excellent whisky, if a tad pricey....
