It's still there but I think that the resaon for its existence has ceased to be, is no more, has passed over the great divide, indeed may possibly be a dead parrot.

no chance that the nonsense has been finished with.

There will be a whole heap of stirring and nonsense to come.

Yes indeed G&T, as the Scottish Independence topic has been thoroughly debated and a conclusive and universally satisfactory outcome established, there is little to discuss, perhaps the thread will be revived in the fullness of time, possibly in a lifetime or in a future generation perhaps.
In the meantime we can sit back and relax whilst contemplating Mr Osborne's pending tax reductions.

Mr Osborne's pending tax reductions.
Can I have some of what you're smoking?

I suspect that with the need to repay all the Nu-Lie-bore partei's borrowing we will be paying a lot of extra tax in one shape or form for many years to come.

Unless, of course, Nu-Lie-Bore in concert with the Scoialist National Partei get into power at which point there will be total financial meltdown.

With a hoped for Tory victory at the elections we should be in a good position to enjoy a massive reduction of state funding for public services, welfare payments and unemployment benefits, this together with an increase in personal tax allowances for those in work will be a shining light in the future.
If Mr Milliband, supported by Mr Salmond gain power, then it would be advisable to get your money out and into Greece.
The polls do indicate such a nightmare scenario.

It's still there. Last entry by GT ice&slice at 1902.

Regrettable I am not permitted to contribute; and I don't think I tried to wind anybody up either

Its reached 45% torque, then the wheel came off!
Very good.

Bravo on your 19:02 post G&T, though be careful with the nationalist comparisons. I recall they can be upsetting for some of the more sensitive SNP supporters who are touchy about the good old Donaldson days.

Mind you,,,,
my pension is in Euro and my earning from my simple job are in Euro

so I think with ZANU-Lie-Bore in power come 2016, especially with the fishy people from north of the border, we will see Euro 1 = GBP 1,000,000,000 very quickly and I will become a multi-billionaire.

Nice to be back together again, but I think that we should be careful with our comments, especially if we start to muse on the various unfolding scenarios.

There are feverish comments in the Daily Telegraph readers section that makes our previous observations look very tame indeed, I would like to share them with you but best not.

Lon more, I should be so lucky, restricted to Wadsworth 6X these days, MJ I have a sinking feeling that "they" will be getting the last laugh.

not now that harpy is the face of the SNP.

She just doesn't have the charisma of Salmond.

The longer the oil stays at its current price the more their arguments are shown to be thoughts of fiction.

There will be a sizable hard core who will continue to bash on about it what ever happens.

But by stirring up the majority of voters to actually be bothered they have shot themselves in the foot.

They had one chance and its now gone.

As I asset stripped before the lead up to the referendum it really doesn't bother me now which way it goes.

But someone has to deal with the slums of Glasgow and Dundee. Aberdeen will be in the same situation as Dundee in the next 5 years as well if the oil price stays the same.

MJ I'm genuinely curious as to why the SNP has had such a massive surge in popularity, their promises turned out to be hollow, and even by political standards of duplicity they demonstrated that they had no qualms about the truth, obvious to all.
Yet they are enjoying a massive surge, is it because they are effective at local government and the population is turning a blind eye to the end game of an independent Scotland?
Do the Scottish electorate really think that it is in their best interests to send up to possibly 40 odd SNP politicians to Westminster to create problems for the UK?
I agree with your earlier comments about it not going away, not helped by Broon busily promising everyone's pension is to be increased by a "pooling funding" from Uk, exactly whose side is he on.

They are actually pretty good with local issues.

They are very local face people and are seen to take a personal interest in local affairs.

They make huge promises to large % of the population who feel they under privileged and nobody cares about them or the perceived poverty they live under. The fags, booze, satellite telly, fancy guttys, iphones etc are all necessity's of life before food for the kids of course.

And to the masses there promises haven't turned out to be hollow, they were defeated by the evil liars in Westminster.

They are only really very popular in about 3-5 constituency's in the minky bits of Glasgow and Dundee and maybe one in Edinburgh.

Just like in the referendum they presume that the vocal support base is going to carry the day. They had some areas that they were think they had 60% yes support in which turned out to be 60% no.

What the silent majority are going to do is going to be interesting. But right up to the min similar to the referendum they will keep banging on about how great they are doing.

This will then cause huge divisions between the east lowland Glasgow who will feel they have been completely ignored by the rest.

Nicola Sturgeon is touring Perthshire in the First Ministers chauffeur driven car.
Suddenly a cow jumps out into the road. They hit it full on and the car comes to a stop.
Nicola in her usual jaunty manner, says to the chauffeur : " You get out and check - you were driving." The chauffeur gets out, checks and reports that the animal is dead.
" You were driving, go and tell the farmer," says Nicola, I cant afford to be blamed for anything.
The chauffeur walks up the drive to the farmhouse and returns five hours later totally plastered, his hair ruffled and with a big grin on his face.
" My God, what happened to you ?" asks Nicola.
The chauffeur replies : " When I got there, the farmer opened his best bottle of malt whisky, the wife gave me a slap - up meal and the daughter made love to me."
" What on earth did you say?" asks Nicola.
" I knocked on the door and when it was answered, I said to them, I'm Nicola Sturgeons chauffeur and I've just killed the cow."
