Relatively small airport, no jetways apparent. Scandinavian?

No, not Scandinavia. It is small, only one runway. In the summertime it is a popular holiday destination.

I've been looking all over for those leaning light towers, but I can't find any like that.
I'm guessing Split, although the PAPI's seem too far from the terminal buildings.

Not in Croatia. Not a Ryanair destination. It is by the Black Sea.

Varna it is. This was in 2008, the airport was closed for a week due to snow. Over to you Rule3.

svhar.

Not sure about rocket motor. That looks like a RR Nene or Derwent engine (copy). Also used in the RAF and known (I think) as an MRD.
Good challange.

They had one at Bovingdon with 2 jet engines. They also may still have one at Santa Pod dragstrip for drying the track out.

Cool Black sea

The engine is a Russian version of either the RR ghost or goblin so is it a military base? Forget it ,I see while I have been on Google earth that the puzzle has been solved!!
