Utrinque Apparatus, unfortunately in the real world they are the living proof of the saying " Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups "

Look at what the UK has become ( and what they are now trying to do to the US )

TZ - and to think, your mates laughed at you when you said you wanted to be a comedian

And your big idea to save the world? Ah yes, litter picking. FFS.

I do idly wonder how many born-again UKIP supporters hereabouts were part of the "I agree with Nick" chorus way back in 2010? Ah, those heady days, when the then doyenne of UK politics was lauded as a breath of fresh air, challenging the stodgy Westminster status quo.

Maybe when I get a free moment I'll have a trawl of the UK Politics thread to see if I can uncover someone's dirty little secret? "Oh shi!t!" I hear some of you say, "I'd better go back and get deleting pronto"...

As a born and bred Bongolian, I appeal to all of you that are sending
oddles of boodle to my rulers as "aid" to please step up your efforts and send more.
This will have the effect of reducing the pressure on the still functioning bits of our country's resources and will hopefully allow them to last until the forlorn hope of the populace waking up and smelling the coffee occurs and they vote for a sensible change.
Soon after that, you will still need to send aid because the new lot will want to snuffle up and get their share, for it is a certainty that the world will not allow capable people to be elected to run Bongolia, because that will restore institutionalised racism.....

I am prepared to offer my services as a facilitator of distributing said largesse.
For a small fee, of course......

Further to my last, a quote from the Life of Brian (the funniest film ever made, period):

Brian: "I am NOT the Messiah!"
Arthur: "I say you are Lord, and I should know. I've followed a few."

https://www.edfringe.com/whats-on/mu...t-of-the-bongo

From the esteemed roster of clubnights at Edinburgh’s Bongo Club, a choice selection of the very best nights out in town during August, with the twisted, freaky mix of burlesque, glam techno, electro and indie of Confusion Is Sex, evergreen soul, funk, Latin, jazz and more from Four Corners, and the mighty Messenger Sound System playing the best in reggae, dub and roots. There’s funk, soul, electro, house and goodtime party tunes at Mumbo Jumbo, soul, swing, doowop, R&B and rock’n’roll at Soulsville, and much more until 5:00am.
I submit the above.

I'd forgotten about that place, capetonian. Does the blurb say whether they have bunga-bunga at the Bongo?

I don't think many UKIP leaning voters would have seen Clegg as anything but another glib Lib Dim, DP ? Many who saw and worshipped his tv standup routine were of the ilk of those who fell under the spell of a certain Bliar, who could also preen well on tv

Hmm, I suppose that is one option...but then again it has been tried before and that didn't work that well for all those concerned.

As for the illiberal left, Stalin et al, they tended to hate liberal lefties as much as they hated the right.

It is a funny old world only one degree of separation between the extreme left and the right.

Personally I am all for the libertarian libertines.

dp, a quote from the Life of Brian
BBC News - What's it like being called Messiah?
A Tennessee court has banned a couple from naming their son Messiah, saying that only Jesus Christ "earned" that name.
"He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy!" said the judge in Cocke County.

You couldn't make it up! (Well, I did make up a little bit)

Burlesque, soul, funk, Latin, jazz... sounds good and they are showcasing Ziggy Gee in August... sounds good.

I think it is safe to assume that no-one would have the cojones to admit it here (or would they? Is anyone man enough, I wonder?). Christ, imagine the opprobrium they would suffer at the hands of their fellow ukippers if they did.

Mind you, wouldn't it be delicious if certain individuals were found out? Oh, the gorgeous irony. Actually, a couple of the more vocal ukippers have been quite quiet of late - a coincidence maybe, or perhaps they've been busy off redacting their past posts?

Oh dear dp, I think the feverish redacting going on just now will be at Chris Bryants office ? What a typical Labour train wreck ?

Indeed - saw him on the telly being dismantled by the Channel 5 anchor, of all people. I didn't realise he was in the opposition until they said (not up on the Labour pollies).

Still, all this cheap immigrant labour is good for business. Not sure how UKIP could argue against it w/o annoying the business lobby.
