I've seen much braver, or dumber, men that me pick up rattle snakes by the tail, then snap the snake as one would crack a wip, then off the snake's head goes.

Me, I shoot the dang things or better yet, get the hell away from them. Course now days I can't run too good, so I guess I'll just stay clear of them.

Earlier this year, a young fellow at hockey training picked up a very small snake that had crawled onto the field and deposited it back into the bush.

He then set off on a training run but dropped dead a few minutes later from Taipan poisoning. He probably didn't even realise he'd been bit.

Snakes shouldn't be killed. They are basically the good guys (even if they are inconvenient). Bring in somebody who can move the critter on easily and safely...

Few years back I've had a head on collision with an eastern rattle snake. After 5 skin grafts from various parts of my body and 18 months of sheer agony of treatments, life is getting back to normal as long as outdoor temperatures are at 40F or above.

Black snake are harmless to humans,if threatened, they will rattle their tails creating a quite wimpy rattle. Grabbed one by it's throat when he was molesting a birds nest as parents were chirping away helplessly,he had one chick in his mouth, managed to pry open it by squeezing his jaw lock and got the chick out alive. I walked to one of our hay field that was just cut and threw him as soon as he unraveled himself of my arm,as he flew away I heard this whooshing sound behind me...Red tailed hawk snatched him before he hit the ground.

Now if anyone can tell me how to off snapping turtles I'll be much obliged.

They are the toughest and the meanest SOB's of the turtle world. They go after the box turtles, turn them over and lay on top of them until they try to up themselves, once the box turtle's head is out of it's shell, they are dead.
I found a large one sitting on a box turtle, ran home to grab my pistol and this is not just any girlie pistol,it is a Rossi's Ranch Hand 357 mag and pumped all 5 bullet into his mouth when he grabbed the pistol AND it lived.....head was gone but those legs were running somewhere quite fast. I got a pitchfork, turned it on it's belly and speared to the ground,4 days later he was still alive.

Re Turtles, this year was hunting Turtls with Abos, sticks in mud,
she found one, got me to dig it up, picked it up, she turned and then
yelled to drop it !!! LOL

It was the wrong type of Turtle and bites like hell !!!

She could have told me that before hand.

Nani
Not sure how they survive so long out of water but they do.
And I don't know how to get them off you as luckily I've never been bitten.
