Just when you thought "taste" could not get lower

Someone inflicts this atrocity on us.

No, I don't mean the Panamera (which looks like it's been eating too many kebabs, if you what I mean) itself, but the matter of the "finish" being velvet. Yes, that's right, those with money but no sense can make what many think is an ugly car look worse by covering the bodywork in VELVET (different colours available to suit everyone's lack of taste), which will be very entertaining when the local pigeons discover it.

One hopes this idea does not catch on, the last thing we need to see is furry Fiat 500's with those bloody "eyelashes" on them........

those with money but no sense
or taste

Always plenty of them around.

Remember a fad for flock-covered cars in late 1960s, looked crap then.

Are you driving the Panamera Hells?

Must say I wouldn't throw one out of my garage if I could afford one (which I can't) and would be prepared to suffer the velvet (so very Jason King)...!

I actually think it looks quite cool!

But why the hell is the job unfinished? Big shiny metal patch left near the exhaust?

Because the bottom pic is more of a company display of the difference between "stock" and "furry".

The finished article is all furry, as you can see below

How would you deal with the normal accretion of road grime and salt?

I'd be more worried about the back end catching fire because of the heat off the exhaust........

Tsk, tsk, some people posting on here have no appreciation of contextual art it seems........

Said vehicle reminds one of the Vauxhall Vectra / Viva...with a sort of lino clad roof often seen in the late 70's

Anyway, anybody who is actually daft enough to own the topic of this thread will hardly be surprised to leave said vehicle one day, only to return and find "Bazzer wus ere" neatly inscribed on the covering.....far too tempting for those so inclined I would have thought.

Sadly there is a class of idiot alive and well in this country that will do the same to a brand new little Corsa as my better half discovered when we bought her current car.

May such people be boiled in their own little bit of chavish bile...

Some 45 years ago I was required to collect a used (ie secondhand) vehicle for a friend.

It was the first time that I had been required to drive an E-type Jaguar, and, being nighttime and out in the country, it was dark.

The E-type was painted matt-black and was trimmed inside with long black fake-fur.

It was an eerie experience as I ensconced myself within the cockpit and began to find the necessary switches and controls - sort of like being surrounded by soft black pussy . . .
