Looks like the old 'Qantas snags list' email needs a revamp!

Someone wanted to take dinner with them but weren't
allowed to take it on the plane

Tasty eating at the other end and chilled to boot

Snakes commonly enter planes in search of rodents, usually because their excellent vomeronasal apparatus has picked up a scent of a meal or more likely it's excreta.

I would be surprised that a rodent could make its way up the maingear of a Q-400, but if it came up the nosegear or stowed away on some freight, the python certainly could.

Anytime a snake is found on a plane, it's time to do a careful inspection for rodents unless it can be determined the snake escaped from baggage.

Birds nests would attract snakes too. But these pythons do like to frequent house ceilings for their own nesting purposes. Anybody's call.

Python's also like getting up high where they sit
and wait and "pluck" animals that walk past or
climb or land on the tree.

And they are smart as well in that seeing an animal
somewhere they will go to that location and wait for
them to return.
