Good news thread

After all the cr4p news this week I though it would be 'simply spiffing' to have a thread with only good news.

Yesterday I got my medical back and this morning received an Email from Aus introducing a complete new branch to the the family tree after 11 years of searching. I had 11 hours of uninterupted sleep last night and a cup of tea in bed this morning.

Life is good.

Although I have got medical problems, I am still alive. I have a roof over my head, grub in my belly and a loving family.

My good news is that our youngest son and his wife and two youngsters are travelling over from the UK and staying with us for a week from Sunday. It seems, for some reason, that there is little good news in Spain at the moment!

It's very foggy in Croydon and that means I can't actually see Croydon. Brilliant!

My non-starting and stranded car just needed a charged battery and new plugs to get home.

Talking of cars, I went and purchased a car on the weekend
which was good news for me !

And on top of that it was my God son's 21st which was a great family night,
not something I attend very often.

My Father, who is 86 years old, is still doing well. I'm off to pick him up to take him to a Halloween Party at his Senior Group. Got him a great Wizard costume.

I know you will all find this completely unbelievable, but

yesterday it didn't rain in my part of Cumbria. And the sun shone for oooo... minutes.

Today, so far, it hasn't rained, but it is very cloudy.

Also Whitehave hasn't flooded since Wednesday.

Oh, OK, I 'fessup, it's all make-believe...

Ahhh......Eastie Beasties versus Weegies. Never has such a short distance created so much antipathy!

Still drinking the excellent Wairau Cove that tesco were doing for just over £4 this summer. OK, I did buy quite a lot.
Half price and 25% off in addition to the half price.

Still dreaming of a white Christmas and, lo and behold, Saturday forecast is for 3cms of snow and I have winter tyres on my car.
That's good!

It's rained all day today so I haven't been able to do any gardening. However I checked the forecast yesterday afternoon and decided to mow the lawn then. So I don't care it's raining today, I've got short grass.

My mother in law did not come over for dinner last night.

This was great news.

I dug out the carrots yesterday - to make life easier for the labrador, who can't eat them any more, and myself, who doesn't have the challenging task of trying to find a black lab in the blackest night and grab her by her ear - well, she must have known the fun won't be there forever.

I only have 2 days work left before I finally get my Summer Holiday!

The heating started to come on at work today which means everyone might just stop whinging that it is cold (although I believe this to be somewhat optimistic).
