pprune VS ppruners

Well, looks like PPRuNe doesnt like the truth again. Post are being deleted continously, and truth is truth, sooner or later truth will shine on other web sites and will be the end of PPRuNe.

In this case all the Ryaniar posts are being either deleted or post erased.

Ive just read the "Terms and Conditions" I agreed when I signed on PPRuNe. Im very happy to discuss this with any of the moderators or owner of PPRuNe

"The Site may provide you and other users an opportunity to submit, post, display, transmit and/or exchange information, ideas, opinions, photographs, images, video, creative works or other information, messages, transmissions or material to us, the Site or others ("Post" or "Postings"). Postings do not reflect our views; and we do not have any obligation to monitor, edit, or review any Postings on the Site. We assume NO responsibility or liability arising from the content of any such Postings nor for any error, defamation, libel, slander, omission, falsehood, obscenity, pornography, profanity, danger, or inaccuracy contained in any information within such Postings on the Site.

So, Where is the exchange of information? the ideas? the opinions?...

I support the moderators on this.
The constant Ryanair bashing is pointless and BORING

But none the less pertinent, Ancient Greek.

In any case I doubt that they are being deleted because they are boring but more because Ryanair have a litigious nature and sue at the first chance that they have.

No matter whether the content is libellous or not the shear money involved in defending a case brought by Ryanair would see the demise of PPRuNe I am sure.

I am disappointed that such posts are removed but I can understand why.

I would also like to see fair play, if defamatory posts about Ryanair are deleted then shouldn't defamatory posts about any other airline also be deleted?

I have been quite refreshed by the recent Mod policy of 'hands off except under the most dire' of circumstances.

I just want my esteemed friends and enemies, unwisely banned under the old, cathartic regime, to be allowed back on here, which would make my PPRuNe experience ever so much more fulfilling.

Or simply because every fan of flightradar24 seems to dissolve in breathless excitement whenever any one of them diverts or changes its squawk! A whole plethora of them appeared at the end of last week, and despite an explanation Here! the futilty was proven.

"I have been quite refreshed by the recent Mod policy of 'hands off except under the most dire' of circumstances."

So if discussing batteries and deleting two of my posts is "under the most dire of circumstances",
then I have to wonder what isn't dire circumstances !!!

On top of which, almost the exact same post was put in another similar thread
and that one stayed put.

Well, in a futile attempt to allay all the conspirary theories, here is what has happened. A simple moderation excercise. This is a rumours and news forum, and intended as a forum targetted for professional pilots although not restricted to that demographic.

A number of threads have been created, many of which simply do not warrant new threads in this forum. When this happens, threads are either consolidated, moved to a more appropriate forum, or simply closed.

For the last few days there has been a shortage of moderation capacity coupled with a plethora of the routine and mundane. This has resulted in a spate of editing and removal for consideration. Moderation is voluntary and what with it being September, a lot of that capacity has been otherwise engaged doing jobs with more tangible benefits.

I am sure over the weekend this will be addressed, but in the meantime a few of you should try and console yourselves that there is no global conspiracy (at any level) to restrict the range of treasures and witterings, that are a regular feature of most threads.

As this isn't a R&N subject either, it is also being closed!
Jetdriver, I think that this post was a tad disingenuous. More like fear of being sued rather than mundane content? It is not a bad thing to admit.

With respect to the mods, one has to question what happened here with respect to that airline that begins with E posts.

Once there is a suspicion about external interference then it is not surprising that people become suspicious (perhaps unreasonably so) about thread closures and locking when there is a rumor (R&N after all) about another low fuel situation with a low cost airline run by a former greengrocer.

That said I am sure that the task of being a moderator here is not an easy one and I am happy to abide by what goes. Truth and real news has a way of making it into the real world with or without the internet though.

It wasn't one iota disingenuous. I posted it and closed the thread in question whilst waiting for a positioning flight between two airports on Friday. I am not aware of anybody suing anybody or anybody threatening to. I can see a couple of threads awaiting attention, and a few more deleted for their pure banality. A couple of others have been moved to more appropriate forums including this one.

"Very reasonable."
