Inject it with Avgas or premium unleaded mogas.

We have a vile thing called Skeleton Weed here in OZ. None has ever survived the "fuel-injection" method. I'm guessing the Knotweed would fall into the same category.

Soil Steam Sterilisation is also advised as efficacious. Glyphosphate is very effective as it spread throughout the entire plant, including the extensive root system.
