Fair enough.
The comment was aimed more at the Whitlam era officers you both refer to. No doubt they have their modern equivalents (though not necessarily in the military) and if that doesn't include you then my apologies.

Drunken plans in the Officer's Mess don't make a coup, maybe sedition.

Maybe it was symptomatic of the 70's. There was a lot of similar talk in the military messes of the UK about that time but the target was Harold Wilson who did so much to screw over the UK.

ALPBC reporting with long faces a poll showing the LNP leading the ALP in Griffith. Must be putting the wind up The Great Leader.
To make themselves feel better, they followed that with a brief clip of Keating hurling personal insults at LNP figures. That was again followed by Bob Brown spreading some eco-hysteria, and am now listening to some teachers union stuffed shirt spouting pro-Labour propaganda.
It's all hands to the pump at the ALPBC!!
As for military coups; why bother. Labour and the Greens will be turfed out in a couple of weeks. I dearly hope CDRE Kaffer is promoted to RADM shortly afterwards.

Just one thing though; Re the makeup artist removing her comment from her facebook page and apologising for the comment......

Who got to her and how did they 'convince' her to do so?

Just my cynical side asking.

Maybe. However, IME bagging out a client in public is considered very unprofessional by beauticians, hairdressers and similar. I have two friends who are beauticians and one had many famous clients (she worked at a swanky resort) but although she'll share stories privately she'd never dream of publishing them.

I think the makeup artist may have received some flak from her colleagues. Nor would the kiss and tell approach do her career any good; they're supposed to be very discreet.

Do you think she may not have realised just how public facebook can be even when your privacy settings are turned right up.

Yes, fair point WitW, a lack of professionalism on her part will cost her any future gigs in that domain. Maybe Abbott gave her a sloppy Nuns kiss & that's why she liked him?

On a side note, I have regular chats with a true believer friend of mine. He likes to rant & rave about the business fat cats, etc, etc yesterday though, he was complaining about a new pair of specs he bought.

He went to some place where they wanted to charge him $980 for a pair. Too much, he thought, so he went to one of the cheaper places. $780, but when they found out he had Private Health insurance, it was $600 for two pairs! This annoyed him somewhat & he carried on for a bit about how they were rotting the system & the taxpayers, blah, blah, blah.

"So, what did you do?" I asked. "We'll, I asked them for a better discount & got the two pairs for $580"....

True believers. Don't you just love them?

Join the dots......

St Kevvy has a RAAF stewardess reduced to tears 'cos she brought him the wrong meal.....

At a presser a few days ago he asks for "any more questions?". A young bloke sticks his hand up. "Are you a working journalist?" St Kevvy asks him. "No. I'm at uni studying journalism" says the tyro. "Are there any working journalists that would like to ask a question?" St Kevvy says......

A beautician points out the differences between St Kevvy and Tony Abbott. "I was in the zone" was his excuse.....

A psychopath relies on superficial charm, makes great first impressions, is glib and grandiose, callous and manipulative, adept at conning people, refuses to accept responsibility for mistakes, is armed with an impressive supply of excuses, hates monotony preferring constant stimulation, and - most critically - has no empathy. (Snakes in Suits: When Psychopaths Go to Work ....Drs Babiak and Hare)

Just join the dots

Is it true Kevvy is pausing his campaign just to meet with Annabel Grabbe?

Nah, he's dealing with the Problems in Syria. They're probably easier to fix than the Problems in Griffith...
Sisemen, agree that he's undoubtedly a jerk. That's been we'll known in Queensland for a long time. However, dealing with jerks is what customer service is all about. He didn't hit her, shower her with vitriol or throw things.

ANOTHER Article on Rudd might lose his seat.

The numbers look worse than when I first posted the story last week.

That would be the icing on the cake if it happened.

Nah, he's dealing with the problems in Syria
That's what he said in the morning. Then he flew 800kms by RAAF jet to Brisbane and spent the afternoon filming a segment for Annabel Crabbe's cooking show, before heading back to Canberra for an 8pm meeting on Syria.

As Andrew Bolt said, this news might finish him off. If the cooking show were that important, surely it could have been filmed very early or late.

Rudd has advised that any suggestion that he suspended campaigning to film the cooking segment is 'wrong and defamatory'.

I wonder what the dish was. Goose?

Just looked to see what The Brisbane Times was showing
on the same topic. Slightly different quotes from other
people.
