#2 - Just announced that Collie in WA will take on 10 'bridging visa' families. That's 50 people folks. The local Council had to find out about it by reading it in the West Australian this morning!!!!
That's got Social Unrest written all over it.

Talking of which, just had a letter from Air BP.

"In line with the Federal Government's Clean Energy legslative package, domestic aviation fuel sales have been subjected to a carbon price since 1 July 2012 though an increase in fuel excise.

The current rates of aviation fuels of Kerosene 9.53cpl and Aviation Gasoline 8.61cpl will rise to the levels detailed below:

2013-14 2014-15
Jet A1 9.83 10.16
Avgas 8.86 9.14 "

Remember when the fuel excise was removed when we went to "user pays" ( Thanks to the Amateurs Obstructing Professional Aviators) So now we have triple what that excise was, GST on top, and still have to pay for Airservices, use of the privatised airports etc.

Sounds a bit like when a whole lot of them were placed in the Chalet Village at Jandakot, unbeknown to all apart from the chalet village tenant, including the Airport Leaseholders JAH. Serco guards were stationed around the chalets sitting on plastic chairs for hours on end. There was nothing that JAH could do about it.

When Kevin Rudd said he was going to stop the boats...the ones that started coming after he was elected...did he put a time frame on it? Was it going to be before Sept. 2013?

Anyway, I love how fuel is going up "because of the weaker dollar"...so, why didn't it go down when the dollar was strong?

Same with beef prices . Every time there's a drought it skyrockets (it would be cheaper to buy a restaurant than steak at the moment) but every time there's a glut it stays right up there.

Someone's doing well out of it, and it isn't the cattlemen.

Recent headline preceding statements by KRudd:

Rudd lashes Tony Abbott
And they call this news??

Has anyone noticed that we see the "angry' Krudd on TV these days? Makes it all the easier to see why no-one could work with him as PM - and the stories about belittling flight attendants etc ..... You wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him.

Stay with it Kevin, you've nothing to lose - you're in a safe seat.

The Cattlemen's Association is in the middle of a major 'blue' with Coles at the moment and says it will stop supplying Wesfarmers outlets until Coles stop sponsoring an outfit called Animals Australia (Think that is the name).

Parabellum

That fight has already been won.

Coles backed down - and so they should.

Everybody I know hammered Coles over it.

Thanks Parabellum, I forgot to factor that in.
Agree 500N, it was a ridiculous idea that was probably dreamed up by the city poppets in the marketing department.

Probably.

Net they will want to get into bed with PETA, the worst of the lot
for killing animals in huge numbers.

I must say, the growth industry of sucking donations for a charity
that does very little of what it is supposed to amazes me.

Just heard a report on the news, there has been a total of 600 arrivals in the first 6 days of the month If this is nt an invasion, I would like to know what is. Christmas Island must be bursting at the seams, and our patrol boats are surely feeling the strain. Good job, once again , Julia

I'm not; they're a leetle bit right wing for my taste.
That said, I did vote for them in the Senate one year.

Good on you

To be honest, we aren't THAT right wing.
I don't know many shooters who are far right wing,
just right of centre a bit
