There's a stern new sticky at the top of the Passengers and SLF board.

Under no circumstances are we allowed to discuss The Anagram That Thinks It's An Airline, otherwise dire prognostications will befall us.

So I won't
Thought it was the name of my football team's stadium.

Still nice and warm here.

Sounds like someone's had a legal letter (or Danny's applying for a job with them!). Be nice if a reason for the block was given - some on here are grown ups and could cope with it!

Whatever gave you that idea nigel ?

It may be called that by the club and it's supporters, but to all other Mancunians, it's called Wastelands or The Council House Stadium.

Gammon, sausages, baked beans, fried eggs and hash browns for grub tonight.

Belgian healthcare really is vastly superior to anything we have seen and experienced in Norway, Holland, the UK and Spain.

Within 36 hrs of admission a battery of complicated and labour and machinery intensive tests has been done, a careful diagnosis and treatment plan have been formulated and the doc (young, female and wonderfully intense) has started a slew of meds. Once Mum's system reacts as it should, they will release her.
New health realities for her to cope with, but she has ample practice and will adapt and accept.
Thank you for listening. Nice people.

Great news, thanks for keeping us informed.

Getting old is unfortunately compulsory. I am contemplating trifocals.
Fortunately I don't act my chronological age.

As they say, growing old may be mandatory but growing up is only optional.

The gang we have working here are staying at the Wasdale Head Inn ( The Wasdale Head Inn ) so to pass the time in the evening have taken to climbing the various local peaks. They tell me they will be climbing Scafell Pike before the job is finished!

Your accommodation is a pub! Has no-one noticed??

Thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes.

Perhaps I should point out that today is also Sailor Vee's buffday.

Omani Happy Returns, sunshine.

Westie, that must be one of the nicest offices on the planet. I don't often do envy but on this occasion there's no option.

Juud, that is wonderful news. Looks like all the prayers and thoughts and especially the Belgian health service have won quite a formidable battle there.

It's been a wonderful day here for walking, so that's what we've done all day. Got back just in time to cycle to the pub for a snifter. We should sleep well tonight.
Tomorrow brings a narrow boat extravaganza down the River Trent. Three men in a boat and uncountable number of decent drinkeries to visit.
Could be a mess.

Just in time - Happy Birthday Sailor Vee, hope it went well.

I was a member of one of those crocodiles of school children wandering the Cumbrian Fells in the early fifties that that miserable buggah Wainwright hated so much.

I have been allowed a computer following demonstration of the ability to meet strict prison production goals imposed by Lady Singapore's brothers who are both guards and production managers.

I must admit some pride as my hand-signed knitted lamb skin cat suits (fully biodegradable) are evidently selling well at the Spitalfields Makers Market. Learning continental-style knitting (out of favor with the British after WWII I am told) with the right hand was not easy using a Navajo based curriculum.

Evidently in Singapore the left hand is used for something other than knitting and products produced using the left hand style of knitting sell as well as pork carnitas in Riyadh

Lady Singapore's gonzo style, flapping spirochete design philosophy is kind of contrary to my process.

Broken Arrow!

Quizling

..........to a right TURNING vehicle..........
Trouble is ... the right turning vehicle demands its' right of way regardless of opposing traffic overtaking the patiently waiting a left turning vehicle obeying the rule, with the resultant smash in the middle of the road - and no, the traffic passing that waiting left turning driver shouldn't have to give way to the ego seeking right turning driver who demands, and takes, his 'right'.

I don't misunderstand the new rule, I repeatedly get 100% correct answers in all the silly 'quizzes' that they are throwing at us - unlike an early morning talk-back radio host of NZ birth, who admitted that he only got 2 out of 10 correct, it's not the new rule that I don't understand, it's the brain-dead who orginally invented the one that we are repealing that I don't understand. And No, nothing you may say will change my opinion, perhaps you should learn from POM drivers ! ( and don't use a right indicator as you approach a roundabout when effectively going straight across, that simple task evades most NZ drivers for some reason ! )

The new slogan " the top of the tee goes before me " at T junctions, is already being stated as " the top of the tee gives way to me " by some, I predict much carnage, but maybe natural selection will make the roads safer for those of us who do understand.

I suggest that it is you who should keep off the road at 05.00 on Sunday, lest you come face to face with a maroon coloured station wagon - me !!

Best of luck, time will tell which if us is right.

Cheers.

Wow even a new thread of mine has been pulled. Just wanted to see what JB's thought of the new Team GB strip. Baffled to see what I said was wrong????
Team GB SHOULD reflect the Union flag and all it's colours. After all that's what we are Great Britain, the elements of which are England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Why was it pulled???

Whatever gave you that idea nigel ?

It may be called that by the club and it's supporters, but to all other Mancunians, it's called Wastelands or The Council House Stadium.
Well Ibby, what came first the cricket ground or the football ground?? Nicking a name from others!! Shame!

Night y'aaaaall.
