Hopefully incurring some grid penalties to "add spice" to the occasion.

SUPERB qualifying session from LH.

Superb qualifying session from Rosberg as well

Ted Kravitz was right . . . (fuel)

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix - Vettel thrown out of qualifying - Yahoo! Eurosport UK

Vettel's RB8 was subsequently found to have an insufficient quantity of fuel for post-qualifying scrutineering, triggering a swingeing punishment and a dramatic twist in the title race.

Too many rules.

Right on the money. Vettel was 150 ml short in the fuel sample.............if they can't analyse 850 ml, they need

Total farce .

Surely you couldn't expect that from FIA. With Alonso behind in the championship and after a not too good qualifying session - who could have expected such a move from Ferrari International Association?

I wonder if FIA would be this strict if Alonso was 30 points ahead and finished 1st in Q3?

Jack Brabham

After running out of gas on the final lap, Jack Brabham pushes his car across the finish line at Sebring, FL in 1959. By completing the race, he won the world Gand Prix driving Championship

Oh come on, get real...the FIA, for once, have applied the same penalty applied previously for the same breach of the regulations

The FIA did not short fuel the Red Bull...Red Bull did that, even though the world championship is hanging in the balance.

The rule is you have a litre of fuel to give the FIA and the Red Bull didn't or wouldn't have had. there's no grey area there. The team made a mistake.

With Maldonado in the mix maybe the back of the grid is not that bad a place to be. If I was Alonso I would want to be really sure of the outcome before going any where near that madman

The FIA has been fair and consistent in punishing this particular infringement. Lewis Hamilton had the exact same issue in Barcelona and was sent to the back of the grid.

Even Red Bull say it is fair and was their own mistake.

Now let's see if Vettel is worthy of the championship by proving he can drive through the field. I'm sure Alonso can't believe his luck, must be pinching himself.

Indeed!

According to an article on SPEED, Red Bull have chosen to start Vettel from the pit lane. Apparently they are are able to do this and be allowed to perform work on the car according to a provision of the sporting regulations. It should be interesting to see how many positions Vettel is able to gain during the race and how many points Alonso is able to collect. And just when it was beginning to look like another Vettel runaway!

Up to and including the Toro Rossos should be fairly swift but after that may be more difficult and I imagine Massa will have a pretty wide car.

Wouldn't it be nice if all those kind gentlemen waited for Mr Vettel and let him through to the front...

...yes, nurse, time for my dried frog pills already?

I wonder if team orders would extend as far as having MW take Alonso out?
