A bit of a mixed bag, but a big thumbs up for VB.

I had high hopes when I switched on 10 minutes before the race and saw the track was wet.

It was incredibly underwhelming. Other than Sainz early storm, and a few corners of Lewis v Checo, there really wasnít anything going on.

Potential was so high, and it just failed to deliver.
Even Bottasí flawless weekend appeared totally unremarkable because nothing happened to highlight his performance.

It may be within the rules, but I think itís a big problem that inter tyres can manage a whole race. Those inters are too good, far too much overlap, and that prevents some of the different tactical tyre choices.

If it was a smaller operating window then drivers would be forced to consider full wets or slicks more occasionally.

Most affected by Aston Martin's Dull Blob Green. It looked lovely before.

Maybe Iím remembering slightly differently due to it being quite a while ago now, but I seem to remember Bridgestone full wets being used more than the Pirelliís are.

If it is indeed true, I have to admire Verstappen's approach. He says he drives his car as fast as he can. If he wins, great, if he wins the championship, even greater. If not, why should he care? He has another 15 years ahead of him. Good mindset to be in against Hamilton who must be desperate to get that last championship before time runs out.

Given Lewis's budding fashion line maybe Lewis should focus on racing and not his designer label.

The F1 world champion has teamed up with American fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger to create his own line called TommyXLewis, which will be launched in Shanghai on Tuesday. It is the Brit's first attempt at producing clothes as he plans for a career outside of Formula One as a fashion designer.5 Sept 2018

Remind me how many titles has LH won since 2018?

It's obviously a distraction. 🙄

So when he put his car on top of Lewis's at Monza it was because he wasn't bothered rather than because he was contesting the place?

I didn't suggest he won't try to win, I just don't think his mindset is at the 'now or never' stage for the championship. Maybe Hamilton isn't either...just a view based on Verstappen's comments.

It's a bit like complaining about Einstein's hairstyle.
Lewis dress style doesn't affect his driving skills so...

Could even be a trick to distract his opponent

I have a good suggestion for the sport, fine each team one point when they bitch about the other teams, then we can get back to racing and get rid of the Red Bull / Mercedes spats on TV that do the sport no good.

Only from an F1 revenue sense, that's probably the underlying reasoning.

Indeed - amazing how obsessed some "race fans" are with clothes. I guess they must be Cosmo readers...

Hey at least it generated a couple of posts in this otherwise dead thread.

It wasn't dead, there's just nothing to say until the next race.
