Ferrari throw toys out of pram, leave FOTA (waiting to hear what RBR say their reasons are).

Despite being in an identical car MW could not catch SV all season long and even then not UNTIL he had a gearbox problem in the last race
Did McLaren ever take a front wing of JBs car and put it on Lewis' car?
Identical car..yeah right if you believe in the Easter bunny

At least JB in an identical car beat Lewis fair and square (and is probably paid a lot less as well but not for long hopefully)

I'm amused that many on here assume that RBR and in particular SV will win the title again next year.. I'm sure I heard an article on radio the other day that JB scored more points than SV in the 2nd half of the season.. I'd say the 2012 title could be close run.. That said RBR are already in the build phase of the new car..

Lex/Red/Lobes,
If you think "wing gate" is the only reason for MW's poor showing this past 2 seasons then perhaps you are not quite as F1 knowledgable as I originally thought
Sure SFFP,how exactly can you prove that?
As MW actually did finish above SV in Germany I obviously cant but the comment achieved it's aim

Why would they, two former World Champions driving, as you so correctly pointed out identical cars, can't see the point

Identical cars but sadly only one World Champion driver which does make the team decision making process a little easier

Not that SV is in any way, shape or form comparable to Fangio; except that SV is indisputably far more accomplished at being intolerably annoying when he wins.

Fangio used to race on the basis of winning at the slowest possible speed; any faster was more risk for no gain
He gave the reason that he had only seen the sides of heads, instead of faces, in the stands and realised that something had happened up the hill. That's quick reaction
Looks like the cull hit hard here

McLaren obviously played a good game of catchup especially with their best driver coming second in the championship doing much better in the second half of the season.
The Red Bull car designed by AN was obviously the class of the field but with time McLaren caught up to some extentas they did the year before. If AN can do it again and maximise his car with the new regs then Vettel would have to be odds on to win again.
The best McLaren could hope for is for JB to do another sterling job as he did this year and hope that Ferrari do not have a competitive car because Alonso in a car that was clearly not as good as the McLaren still beat Lewis.
If Alonso is in a car anywhere near as good as the others it will be a good season.

That'd be even more interesting if the Red Bull culture had the same effect on Alonso that McLaren did in 2007. The petulant dummy-spitting was a right old laugh and a half.
My opinion of Alonso still hasn't recovered.

So will the BBC be keeping Coulthard as main commentator? I hope so as I think he is actually quite good. Shame to lose Brundle but c'est la vie, he was awful when he started, anyone remember that program he did? Was it "Great Escapes" or something...
