Lomapaseo, yes, it could be, but this place is in another part of the world. No big money is correct.

And tourists, I guess not. Unless they want to be eaten. Enough clues.

a tiny alpha-numeric key number on it. Sadly, the decoder has not been located yet.
We could take a crack at that too...

(Especially if you can add dates & locations or whatever he would have encoded.)

By alpha-numeric, do you mean hexadecimal, or something else?

I am certain the letter referred to the particular tray in which the slide was located and the number (1-100) the particular slot within.

The slides became loose from the trays, and inter mixed with my own collection from the mid sixties (several of which have been posted here and identified). They were replaced in new rototrays pretty randomly, sadly.

Your collective help has been wonderfully healing in a way. Continued thanks.

Tourists get eaten = Papua New Guinea

Port Moresby, National Capital District, Papua New Guinea

"Although headhunting and cannibalism have been practically eradicated, in the past they occurred in many parts of the country." per Wickedpedia

Does "practically" mean "almost"?

Well, "just" a matter of sorting them out. Have you scanned the slides to DVDs? A friend did that for many of my parents' slides. Easier to flip through, although no less jumbled. (Add the labels to each image on the DVD if you can.)

I think I can safely say on behalf of all of us, you're welcome.

I've used the expertise here to identify photos my mother took, and I appreciate the help

I thought it was Seattle but couldn't see the Space Needle, which would have been a bit of a giveaway ......... Good one!

apparantly george lucas used the seattle dock container cranes as his inspiration for the walking robots on star wars.

Off topic, but I'm intrigued by the aircraft window in your Seattle pic. Was that taken from a Gulfstream?

looks like a RR viaduct bridge and rock cut that was later filled in and then still later abandoned.

not in North America

It wasn't built as railway viaduct, that's for sure.

Not in North America (how did you know - because the people in the photo aren't 'dimensionally challenged'?)
