Gitmo is still open.
I am a bit surprised.
He said he'd close it, and it surprises me a bit that five and a half years on, he hasn't figured it out.

But hey, at least about every six months Obama issues a press release that says that he really, really, really is going to close Gitmo this time.

So he's got that working for him.

Doesn't surprise me. He can't figure out how to find his own ass with both hands, let alone something like Gitmo.

Is it 2016 yet?

AW,

If Congress truly did "less than zero", they would have repealed laws--starting with the disaster unfolding at Obamacare and worked back to the New Deal.

500N:
Obama is too pig headed to compromise.
No sir - but he has his own definition of the word.

So "folds to islamists" is the new "upholds the copyright of a filmmaker".

If the posters remake the film without the stolen section, then I'm sure their free speech will be upheld in the new version.

Google contesting the case suggests that they weren't convinced by the copyright claims though. Or perhaps they're sensitive to the commercial power of the 'baggers and their fondness for Youtube.

It's called small, bite-sized compromise.
No, it would, in fact, be collaboration with the enemy, and it would quickly lead to defeat.

But you fully expect our side to compromise with your side.

I have no expectation whatsoever that evil 'bagging lunatics will do anything of the sort.

AW's the only one who won't have one

People are applying for concealed-weapon permits in droves in Orange County, after a federal court ruled Californians don’t have to justify their need for the permit.

In less than two weeks, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department has received more than 500 applications for concealed-weapon permits – about the same number of applications received in all of 2013.

Good on the NRA

AWBlain has said that it is OK to spend our money to get what we want.

From another thread about a rich CEO stopping a tracking site near his home.
There's no point acquiring all that money if you can't spend it to get what you want.
So we spend our money on the NRA who flights court cases to get what we want
- and what is right by the constitution, not as decided by one person.

Makes one wonder whats going on in the USA.
Today I was jump seating home for days off.
Airport had no known crew member place.
Had some tools that I carried with me for years essential to my flight deck job.
I thought flight crew was exempt from this stupid rules TSA adopted.
TSA tells me its liquids only at this airport.
Was just a socket dive for manual starter opening. 1/2 inch drive, but over 7 inches long, which is forbidden.
I am flight crew, not passenger.
Thank God the Airline allowed me to check this bag even though I was jump seating home.
TSA has never caught any terrorist, only abused many.
Biggest waste of tax payer money in USA history.
Cut the military budget?
Time to get rid of these non producing TSA that cant even think whats important or how to move a safe airplane!
Passed all background checks, retired military, known crew member badge.
Yet some TSA, Too Stupid for Arbys did this.

500N's subtlety and tongue in cheek detectors still appear to be inoperable.

I'm sure the hedge funds that own the gun manufacturers are very grateful for your contributions. The Exxon CEO at least spends his companies' money on his lawsuits rather than yours directly.

The interesting thing is that Dick Armey's been fighting for an individual (albeit a very rich one) over a corporation, which is a bit of a surprise.
