PD....the concept has merit. Think of how we could get rich by putting in place toll roads on every North/South highway....and clip all them Yankees commuting/moving/Snow Birding to and from Florida!

Why Man....you would see the return of Alligator and Snake Farms for the Clippee's and ever Pedro could do South of the Boder Redux.

We even could do the same for the Inland Coastal Waterway....have our Fish Cops board every vessel coming and going....ticket the hell out them for any imagined violation, shut off traditional anchorages and force them into mooring fields, seal their Marine Toilets and put Green Dye in the holding tanks....YES!

I am all for it.....lets show the Yankees and those from the other places than Florida what it feels like.

Now if we added WV, AL, MS, LA, TX, and OK.....just imagine what our Red Nation would look like. Darn....almost like......errrr....a Confederacy.

A better question would be, Why should he?
It's not a better question, it's an attempt at diversion. It's a simple matter to release your tax returns if you are running for the office of President.

He is clearly hiding something.

Re-Entry.....if it is all that clear to you....then pleade by all means do enlighten us as to just what that might be!

Using your logic....just what is Obozo hiding re all his documents, school records, source of funding for his many years of University, and his Passport/Immigration records.

As you say....in lieu of them being made public....there must be something he wishes to keep hidden....Right?

Well, I do suspect that Obama is hiding something also, but it's a bit late now.

Why is it too late?

What do you mean 'it's a little bit late now'?

You are aware that there is an election coming up, are you not? Obama's past is more important now than ever. Obama has spent millions of dollars to prevent any records of his past from being exposed to public view. Why?

Oh, and no, I'm not one of those 'birther' people, far as I am concerned he is a natural born US citizen. But there is something that he is hiding and if Obama was a Republican, we would know what it is by now. Not because Republicans are more honest, but with Republicans the mainstream media would not rest until they found out what it was he is hiding.

Hell, we all but know the colour of Romney's nanny's nickers were when he was born, but a large section of Obama's life remains a complete mystery.

One more point, remember Harry Reid standing on the floor of the senate demanding that Romney show his tax returns? Perhaps Reid should practice what he preaches, with a an average salary of around $150,000.00 a year, he has become a multi-millionaire since being elected to the Senate and he has never released his tax returns. Not once. Neither has Nancy Pelosi, another Senate millionaire.

I suspect re-entry does as he's singing Harry's song, right from the talking points memo.

What do you make of Mitt's reasons for not releasing his tax returns, re-entry, namely because the money he donates to the Mormon church and how releasing that data would "not be right" as the donations are something that is private?

Given that he has stated the magic "10%" for these donations alone, that does kinda put Obama to shame with his "charity donations" that have ranged from less than 1% to 14%........

Of course he is, he's a politician and his lips moved!

But what do you think the REAL reason is?

SAS, I agree with adding WV. Even though it's not economically sound it does have beneficial geography in that it's high ground linking VA and KY so helps create a natural barrier that, once fortified, will make it easier to shut down the flood of refugees from the North that would otherwise stream down. A leakproof frontier will re-direct them westward to OH or eastward into the ocean.

The thought of a new Confederacy crossed my mind, but then realizing AL, MS, and LA have nothing substantial to offer and suck at handling hurricanes, rejected it. The Navy out of Norfolk will control the Gulf and therefore all the offshore oil, so there's really no reason to include them, or Texas. Besides, you know Texas, they'll make a big, humungous deal out of being their own country again anyway. Let them, I say. They'd just end up being a pain in any Confederacy's ass, wanting to call the shots when there's no reason on earth why they should, like France in Europe.

Those transiting North-South or vice-versa with FL, NY, NJ, MA plates would be required to stay on I-95 and the only currency they can use for gas and sundries will be coupons from a Pedro's coupon booklet printed for that purpose which they'll have to purchase at the south GA and northern VA border crossings.

I have the opportunity to move to SC if I want, given that we do stuff there now. Bet I could drop this California accent right quick.

Now is it ya'all, or you all?

That said, SWMBO won't go for the humidity.

Hmm.... I may be on to something here.

The states that are represented by the Big 12 would make a pretty decent country.

Hell, Oklahoma alone could be completely independent; farms, cattle ranches, oil/gas, refineries and about everything else one would need to be a self-contained country.

Not that this will ever happen of course. But if the oil and natural gas producing states cut off the taps to states that say "you can't drill here, because of the environment, looks bad, etc.", I would believe that those states would change their tune very quickly.

Question

From South Carolina......

2012 CAMPAIGN POSTER

"Socialism is a philosophy of failure,
the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy,
its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.."
-- Winston Churchill

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read: Unfortunately, most voters don't know this.

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them; and when the other half gets

the idea that it does no good to work, because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Can you think of any reason for not sharing this?
Neither could I.

It's y'all. But you don't need to drop the accent, unless you want the less-humid and cooler weather and decide to go live way up in the mountains. In that case, learn to say y'all and if you happen to handle snakes as a hobby, so much the better.

You can't have WV. There's obvious Manifest Destiny issues. Besides, you really want to throw in with Texas? You know how they'd treat you.
Hell, Oklahoma alone could be completely independent; farms, cattle ranches, oil/gas, refineries and about everything else one would need to be a self-contained country.
No nuclear deterrent, no country, because everyone who has them is willing to use them if our conventional forces can't brush you aside easily enough.

I encourage you to do it. It may be the crisis that gets this ball rolling.

Hey con-pilot. thread drift. What has Senator James Inhofe done recently to adapt to the climate change (which is not happening) due to the global warming (which is not happening) which is not human-caused???

Drought? Surely there is no drought... no it cannot be. No drought, no drought, no drought.

There you see if a Senator says it enough times it will rain.

A drought in Oklahoma, my word, that's never happened before.

Oh wait. Does the term 'dust bowl' mean anything to you?

It is a very good thing for you that I do not address people here in a demeaning or insulting manner, otherwise the word 'idiot' would pop to mind.

Re-entry....Another drought, climate change by man, post.

Long before the industrial revolution, there have been cyclical droughts and global increases of temperature. Followed by the pendulum swing the other direction.

Anyway, everyone in my neck of the woods knows if you want it to rain, you merely wash your car. Modern day Indian rain dance.
