So the president pardoned a turkey, this morning....
The turkey that didn't get a pardon is now claiming his civil rights were violated. Appearently, he was grilled beforehand.

I'm sure the Main Stream Media will gobble up this story.

Good thing he has a right to a speedy trial. Say 350 for about 4 hours.

And good luck getting judged by a jury of his peers. Come the day after tomorrow, your not gonna find any of them that want to hang around together in one place.

Had it been Oklahoma he would have been fried.

There is an on-line system to verify Social Security Numbers and to confirm a Worker's Eligibility to work.....called E-Verify.

Not mandatory, except in a small number of states. Forbidden in California.

What a system.

There are some folks that do not believe we have four seasons in California, but we really do.

Early Summer
Summer
Late Summer
Next Summer

9 months of winter and 3 of damned poor sledding.

11Fan,. And I thought Cali's seasons were fire, rain, flood and mud.

Funny thing. When I first went to work I had to sign all sorts of papers, including an oath that I was not and had never been a member of any of 350,000 communist-affiliated groups. I worked there a few decades; FAA prohibited me from having C2H6O for lunch (although FAA-approved repair stations around the world serve it in the plant cafeteria), endured contradictory briefings on import/export rules, shipment of fuel samples, and had to pee in a cup once,

So when I retired, I was invited to work part-time in a small consulting office run by a couple former colleagues. Almost no bureaucracy. Free coffee. Very practical problem-solving atmosphere.

But finally my colleagues decided to sell the business - to a large national company, at a very nice sum - and I had to jump through to hoops again; e-verify etc.

Sayonara, y'all!

Just a follow-on from Dushan's post: there are only two seasons in Madrid: four months of winter and eight months of hell.

Please lets have more on the pardoning of Turkeys. To my simple mind "pardoning" suggests they had done something wrong.

What ?

Gentlemen, meet your next Chief Executive.

What it took to get Hillary Clinton to speak at UCLA: Hummus, $300K, fruit, a new podium, a special cushion.

And 12 months of some of the most beautiful women on the planet. I was fortunate enough to have visited Madrid on a couple of occasions many moons ago and was always struck by how very beautiful some of the women there were. Amazing.

Hey, hey, hey!

Gasoline (petrol) is down to $2.26 a gallon just down the street from me and is expected to be below $2.20 by Wednesday.

I'm sure that NBC will fully credit President Obama for these lowering prices.
