To a man (or woman) they all would like to see everyone have some sort of health coverage
That is my experience as well and why so many of the doctors I know were so supportive of Obamacare at first. If the law had been kept simple (yes I know that bit would be more appropriate on the Friday Joke thread) and only directed to providing health care to all, it might have worked.

But instead, we get this monster that cost me my doctor that I can no longer see and now I have to find a new primary care physician after August 15.

Ah, but they torment you for your own good, Con.

CS Lewis:
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Yup!

I can understand those who would govern to line their own pockets, It's the sincere ones who will kill you in the name of the greater good.

Boudreaux:
I believe that the health care elites, like Rahm Emmanuel's brother Ezekiel Emmanuel, would like to see a health system where the majority of the "providers" are not doctors. PA's, nurse practitioners, nutritionists, and a host of other types who can be paid much less for the same service. They would feed the patients into a pyramidal system in which specialists in big centers would treat everything complex. And be able to control the treatment and its costs.

An actual "doctor" in your local community would become a thing of the past.

Of course not. You'd be amazed at the influence just 2 institutions have had over US health policy in the last 30 years or so, perhaps beginning with Hillarygate. Those would be Yale and Harvard.

Don't want to read too much into it, but I notice He's got a plateful of the same stuff his wife is campaigning to remove from childhood experience,

Just read today, no more bake sales featuring cookies, cupcakes, etc. in our sterling public schools.

And yes, the 'sign the birthday card' admonishment is creepy.

Russia Deputy PM taunts Barack Obama on social media

Oh your post sods.

Russia / Putin taking the piss out of Obama and his masculinity.

When it sinks to these depths, you know you are in trouble.

SRT:

I liked your quote about tyranny per CS Lewis.

However, I also like Thomas Jefferson's rather simple explanation of the same:

"Tyranny is defined as that which is legal for the government but illegal for the citizenry." -

Con:
I had to drag your comment from the Gaza thread, for fear of too much thread creep.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program.
Oh I did. Unfortunately while I was fixing dinner Mrs OG was watching NBC News, and later PBS, both of which went on and on about Jim Brady, and how that nasty Republican had seen the light and become a progressive.

Very good definition, Mr Rock. Applies perfectly to our govt who are quick to load ever more impediments, restrictions and hindrances on business and the general populace, all of which at no time apply to the ruling elite and their cronies.
