P.S. To brighten up you bicycle basket, cover it with the plastic flowery base cover from a bird cage.
Used or new?

Yer a bunch of hidebound, anglomaniacal GRUMPS.
With a distinct lack of historical knowledge to boot.

Drapes, remember how we had telephone contact regarding Proper Closure of TRAB in the olden days? You were still on dial up and every time I called you I got the beep beep beep busy signal while Aunt Maries rose inexorably.
'T were funny.

"West Country fish fillets", where fish is caught in the West Country
Surely they cannot have been caught in the West country - perhaps in the Western Ocean?

Because it has turned out to be a gloriously sunny day....
Because he's hunched and scrunched up in front of his 'puter...
Because he has a hurty hand.....
Because the dogs need walking...
Because I need his presence in the garage.....

Save time when crossing a one-way street by only looking in the direction of oncoming traffic. - D. Rogers, Hemel Hempstead

When crossing a one-way street always look in BOTH directions in case a large blue furniture removal lorry is reversing the wrong way up the road. - D. Rogers, Hemel Hempstead General Infirmary

Doing my bit ...

A raisin dropped in a glass of fresh champagne will bounce up and down continuously from the bottom of the glass to the top.

HOUSEWIVES. I find the best way to get two bottles of washing-up liquid for the price of one is by putting one in your shopping trolley and the other in your coat pocket.

Hang flower bulbs in pairs of old tights in the shed in winter. I can't remember why but apparently it's good!

I did indeed, Westie. Don't think they'd have made it through the LCY take off!

Are we there yet?
