Juud, how do you find Cape Town ?
You just get off the aircraft ... and there it is!

The Cape Town waterfront is amazing ... you could spend days there and still not have seen everything!

Moi aussi.
So am I, Mike X ... but we spell it with an "e" on the end.

Coat ... door ...

Morning all, a bit grey this morning. I see all you lot on the East coast of the Uk might see some white stuff later in the week. Time to break out your sledge Capt.Drapes.

Had a most enjoyable evening yesterday, went out with some friends I was at Infant/Primary school with for a lovely Thai meal, very good it was too.

As long as it stays on the east side next week and leaves the west alone, I don't mind.

Think the thermals might need to go in the case though.

One hopes the Mamasan remembered one only accepts the Yanky Dollar or English Pound, none of these dammed Euro or furrin coinage are to be passed or offered as payment at the Spa Bar,
It has rained here more or less continuously for the last thirty hours.
Lorra moaning on the news this morning re the guvmint withdrawing funding for school sports,we managed perfectly well with jumpers for goalposts,we needed no fancy gear, let the spoiled little buggas do the same.

Long way to go till Forty Days and Forty Nights then Mr.D.

I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.

As far as I am aware, his FSLship has never, ever set foot in the spa. He is now demanding money with slight menaces from the ladies.

Have we re-tendered for bar services? Are the boys and girls now on minimum wage? Are the drinks watered down (Yes, I know we drink them in the pool, but that is not what I meant!)

Oi!!
Who let all all the pedants out of the Grammar Room?
Get back inside you lot. Shoo!

I find the Cape beautiful Mike. One of the most beautiful places in the world in fact. When driving to Franschhoek a few weeks ago, I fell to wondering if the first white settlers thought they had actually arrived at the Garden of Eden.
That is how overwhelmingly gorgeous I find it.
And while there is always the tinge of unease at what my forbearers did there, at least apartheid is now a thing mainly of the past.

I know of your proclivities Drapes; unstable cheap Yankee dollars aplenty they is.

Snow´s been blown of all the trees; plenty on the ground though.

Popped into the local shop this morning, and noticed a head line in one of the papers along the lines of "Bad luck Charlie, most British want Wills as King"

Apart from the lèse majesté, it strikes me that:
  • the paper shows a shocking mis-understanding of the UK system of government - in that the snotty little oiks don't get a say in who is to be king.
  • It isn't surprising in the least that a charming young gent currently in the papers because of a marriage and engagement to a pretty girl would win a popularity contest over his 62 year old father, and
  • It's damned rude to point this out to a man who also has no say in the succession.

Talking to a neighbor down the paper shop earlier,he comes out of the house this morning reaches behind to pull the front door shut only to find some buggah has pinched his door knob?,unscrewed and took the whole thing?,now I ask you, things have come to a pretty pass when they are nicking door fittings.

I remember someone in the road had their brand new wrought front garden gate pinched a while back, but a door handle?
I'm inclined to blame the French.

True Captain Checkers, we have fought wars over the succession in times past.

I see that the Business Secretary Vince Cable is claiming that the Lib Dems can ignore the unequivical election promises that they signed up to to fight any introduction of tuition fees cos "they are bound by the coalition deal - not pre-election pledges" and they "did not win the election". Furthermore any signing of any such pledge "might have been the wrong political judgement".

Give weasels a bad name do politicians.

Personally, I think that political parties should be forced to register "official election promises" in writing, and in the event that those promises are not kept, should be liable to be sued for fraudulent election or sommat.

Spiffing HD Clip, if it weren't so far away and involved sitting in one of those unnatural heavier than air machines for endless hours I would have liked to have cast me eyes over this place.

I wonder how many of those that voted Tory or Lib Dem
are regretting that decision now?
Please Sir, can we have a Re-run?
Not that it would do any good having a Re-Run.

We should seriously consider becoming Communists.

That clip above was GREAT. Thanks Cap'n Drapes.

Indeed it is, the irony being that the only creature programmed to appreciate such beauty is a species of homicidal talking naked ape.
