Mothers-in-Law

Like 'em or loathe 'em MILs are a fact of life for a goodly proportion of the human race.

My MIL is a good cook (of the old fashioned variety) and the weekly visit is generally a treat with a delightful pudding to follow dinner.

This week - NOTHING! - no pudding. The excuse? "Sorry, I've been on the tractor all day"

She's nearly 83 and ought to know better

And at 83 Airey..

...I guess she's a tad less energetic when addressing your other needs...right?

Jerricho

No probs with MiL's here - she babysits, cooks enough for a small battalion when she invites us for Sunday lunch, and is an all-round "good egg". She also plays tennis three times a week, winter & summer, climbs mountains and probably trains Royal Marines in her spare time...

Update ...... Mrs Airey returned this evening (I came back this morning) and lo and behold one portion of apple crumble with custard ready for reheating in the microwave!

Apparently the MIL didn't go on the tractor today.

The MIL is forgiven.

Any food my MiL would give me would probably be laced with something nasty and permanant! She thinks being a pilot is not a "proper" job, and when will i grow up and provide a secure living environment for her daughter. Bloody woman!

My MIL is fantastic. Been married to her daughter for 39 years. She has never interfered with anything we did, is 86 now, recently sold her large property and land for huge amounts of dosh, with the result that I now don't have to pay for anything, including exotic cruises!!!!! Love her to bits.

I was at the pub with a mate and the topic came up. I told him my MIL hates me with a passion, and does everything she can to try to make my life difficult.

He said : "Mine's an angel."
I said : "You lucky bastard, when did she die?"

Mind you I did have a MIL once with whom I got on better (and more often!) than her daughter!

I can't get away from my MIL, she's so big that no matter where she sits in the room, she's sitting next to me.

I'm not saying my MIL is big, but the FIL and I went for a pint one night and every time he sat down, he winced. After a while I asked what was wrong and he said 'me and your MIL were having a bit of the other last night.'
'Oh right' says I, 'but why are you in pain?'
'She wouldn't let me turn the ceiling light off!'
