Yes. As Benjamin Franklin put it: "We must hang together or we shall hang separately". Something along those lines.
Kipling.
Gold is for the mistress,
Silver for the maid;
Copper for the coppersmith
Cunning at his trade.
Good! said the baron,
Sitting in his hall,
But iron, cold iron, is master of men all

Actually, the photograph is from the RWS Sisterhood, SE Michigan chapter clubhouse.
We are currently conducting a fund drive to upgrade our facilities to a lead-lined, EMP resistant armaments room. As you can see the cheap plywood facilities are inadequate to protect the arsenal of democracy.
PM me if you wish to contribute to this patriotic enterprise.

C-P; my point was actually that from the nation state perspective, Scotland and England are NOT separate countries, much to the chagrin of the Scottish National Party. Someone, I forget who, stated something like "I know the Scottish police are armed...." which is untrue anyway (excepting armed response units and airport police), but also appears to signal a belief that Scottish and English police forces belong to entirely different sovereign nations, which is not the case!
Back in 1776, at least at the start of the year, Virginia and Maryland, for example, were entirely separate colonies with no common government. As states within the USA, despite having different state laws under which their state troopers discharge their duties, they are part of the same sovereign nation state. That is also the case with Scotland and England.

Constant awareness is not paranoia.
When you have a gun....you do not have to be paranoid.
That is the point is it not?
Gun or no gun....there are areas in all countries one should not go by choice and when there....knowing what is going on around you is the best way to avoid anything bad happening is it not?
How many times you told your daughter things not to do...and how to spot trouble coming?
Is it not the same thing?
