London mayor Sadiq Khan is all over the media at the moment, supposedly decrying extremism.

In 2001 Khan was the human rights lawyer who campaigned for Louis Farrakhan, the racist, homophobic and anti-Semitic "Nation of Islam" preacher, to be allowed into the UK. He managed to get the ban overturned but it was reinstated on appeal.
Last year, he defended his campaign saying "even the worst people need defence".

Fighting extremism? Don't make me laugh!

I'm not defending Sadiq Khan at all, but he's a lawyer and I believe that, as such, he is duty bound to provide the best defence he can for his clients. Similar criticism could be levelled at those who have represented killers like the Moors murderers, or any of the many mass murderers we've seen. Under our legal system all are entitled to legal representation, and the code under which lawyers operate is clear, they are not there to judge their clients, they are required to defend them to the best of their ability, irrespective of whether they agree with their clients alleged actions or not.

Agreed, and he has been doing an excellent job as mayor, far better than I think Zak Goldsmith would have done.

Set a trap, and unfailingly someone will step into it.

Farrakhan had not been convicted of any crime, but his openly racist, homophobic and anti-Semitic bigotry made him an undesirable, which the courts decided was sufficient to ban him. He would not be fined, jailed or any other penalty, just kept out. Sadiq Khan had a choice with this odious creature, but still chose to represent him.

Sadiq Khan, who defended him, is now campaigning to have the elected President of our greatest ally banned from the UK. Which side of his two faces is the real one?

Stephen Hawking's voting labour.
He has an interest in black holes and when he saw Labour's spending plans he instantly recognised one!! Scientists do some rather daft things in the line of their research all too often, as an example just look at how daft scientists studying volcanoes can be! If he has an interest in studying this black hole it could be just as daft. However, I am sure that Hawking is wealthy enough that he won't have a problem if Labour were ever able to get their hands of the country's finances and the other people needing his levels of assistance start to lose out when the money runs out, yet again, under Labour.

Diane Abbott didn't take part in the Women's Hour phone-in debate on Radio 4 this morning "because she was taken ill"!!! Maybe there's a bit more into those rumours of her being kept away from the media??!!

or, of course, she may just have been unwell.....?? Not so much fun for the conspiracy theorists, though.

If you ever needed a reason to avoid socialism getting the chance to get its claws into government in this country, this should add to the long list: https://www.orwellfoundation.com/events/1984-live/.

She's probably been feeling rather unwell after this last night: Diane Abbott suffers yet another car crash interview, as she flounders on details of anti-terror report.

Doesn't Abbot have previous.

Didn't she swerve a recent Commons vote because of a migraine.

As I said in a previous post, TM wanted a quick election with Brexit as the theme simply to get a big majority. While she might get this the decision to call a snap election could in the long run back fire.
The only Tory policy is more austerity. You cannot keep cutting as after 7 years most all public services are showing clear evidence of no longer being fit for purpose.
She is extremely lucky that her opposition is rather weak albeit catching up quickly.
You cannot fool all the people all the time and her and her party would do well to remember that.

LETTER TO AMERICA.

Britain will have a Marxist government on Friday morning, plain and simple, cut and dry. It's ironic in the extreme that Donald Trump's United States is about to become a well governed model of democratic financial rectitude in comparison.
Make no mistake either, the USA is about to become British public enemy number 1. The spin will be that it is the US involvement in the Middle East and especially the recent arms sale to Saudi Arabia is responsible for all world terrorism. The British public will be trained accordingly by the indoctrination syllabus of the new Minister for Education, who left school, pregnant, at sixteen and claims that she has an MA in life experience. Hay Hoe! Bernie endorsed Jeremy too, so watch from across the pond and be thankful, as Britain destructs, that you didn't vote for Sanders.

A "hung parliament" would be a good outcome. The politicians do not end up with too much power, they have to talk to each other and listen. Form coalitions and make compromises and, who knows, maybe even listen to those who elect them.

A comment by Bob Chance on a post criticising Dianne Abbott that I totally agree with.

"I don't rate her at all but just imagine she had been Home Sec for several years and all these awful acts had occurred...how would she be judged then? In the Tory party they anoint you Prime Minister"

Well if it does and I think it unlikely we will all know who is to blame. David Cameron made a fatal mistake on the referendum and Mrs May could go the same way.I am not convinced about the Trump administration being a well governed model. It seems he lurches from one disaster to another or am I wrong????

During Boris Johnsons eight year tenure as mayor there was one Islamist murder, Fusilier Lee Rigby.

In just one year there have been fourteen deaths under Khan.

Excellent job?

Oh really? Well, here's another uncomfortable fact for those who go on about "Tory cuts". Who can forget (although the Labourites may want to) Liam Byrnes infamous "theres no money left" note he wrote for the Treasury incumbents. He tried to dismiss it as a joke, but it was probably the only honest thing said by anyone in the last Labour government.

And the fools want to let them repeat the exercise
