Favorite beers are....

I thought I'd kick off this thread after seeing threads about the best and worst cars, etc.
And if you don't drink beer please don't reply saying so, thank you very much! For the sake of brevity try to limit your list to 5 beers!

My short list:

Spaten
Becks
Paulaner
Budweiser American Ale
Brooklyn Oktoberfest

In no particular order...but with a brief explaination.

1. Corona..with lime (as it is of CONSISTENT quality no matter where in the world you are..and is refreshing on a hot day)

2. Miller Lite (My choice in the USA when on draught, again its refreshing..and for pure flavour its the best fizzy lager I've tasted)

3. Crown Lager (Oz premium lager, perfect for watching rugby)

4. Chang (Knocks you out after a long flight to Asia...nuff said!)

11fan -- Great chuckle from that! Thanks . . .

Depends on the circumstances and the environment.

A table on the beach at Jimbaran Bay (Bali) watching the sun set: Bintang
Standing by the BBQ on a summer's eve in BC: Whale's Tail Ale
Sitting by the fireplace on a cold winter's eve: Gulf Island Porter
Watching a hockey game on the big screen at the local: Molson Canadian!

Kingfisher or Cobra Indian lagers.

Currently 1 for 660ml bottles at Asda; grab a staff member, tell them you'll split their 10% discount if they put it through using their discount card and you'll get it at 95p and the minimum wage lackey gets 5p for every bottle you buy

Now this is a subject I could really warm to!

The Russians make fine beer. If Baltica made cars they wouldn't be Ladas.

I really like Tromso's Mack Arctic Beer, (It may be it was because it the first beverage to hit the gullet after 2 weeks abstinence, in the same way the girl at the SAS ticket desk looked like Britt Ekland) We used to buy it in bulk off the girl on the (seriously) early morning Wideroe flight from Hammerfest and neck it in the terminal at Tromso before the bar opened.

But Hansa from further south in the country is a real shocker for hangovers.

In the US summertime, I can happily whack down a six pack of ice cold Coors Banquet beer.

But oh my God. if one beer holds dread for me it is 'The beer of Maitre Kanter' with that awful leering green gilled man raising a glass to you in mockery the day after. Kanterbrau, Le Mans. Never again..........
