Potez 840 in a garden??

Just back from a w/e in Shetland, and spotted a fuselage in a garden in the north of Shetland. Registration is F-BMCY and all I can find is that it's what remains of a Potez 840. Can any of you kind chaps or chapesses point me at an online resource where I could find out more about its history?

Ta muchly.

Google is your friend

Googled "F-BMCY" and got a bunch of intereting sites including accident report and pictures here :

Much to BeagleEye.

I'm now told it was used at Scatsta for training, but was going to be scrapped when Scatsta was extended for Sullom Voe traffic. Well done, he who grabbed it from the hands of the philistines.

I first drove a car (Hillman Husky) at the tender age of 14 or 15 on the Scatsta strip when it was still a disused ex-military runway, and before the age of the North Sea Oil industry.

There is or rather was ten years ago a whole Vampire Jet in a rather overgrown front garden of a small cottage on the road betwixt the AI and Amble in Northumberland, always meant to stop and make enquires but never got round to it somehow.

The Potez while on a club flight from Paris to Shetland, flown by a couple of French dentists, couldn't get the undercarriage down. They did a successful belly flop at Sumburgh. Unfortunately considered to be beyond repair, it was left just off the runway on the East side of the airfield. Equally unfortunately they let the Sumburgh fireman play with it causing a bit more damage. It was moved from Sumburgh a couple of years ago when it was in the way of the runway extension at Sumburgh, not Scatsta.

Post from the current owner, a D. Feather here, dating back to 2007. Apparently it is in North Roe, Shetland. Google Earth images there are v. poor.

Are you sure about that? There is, allegedly, a Harrier lurking on a farm just across the valley from me and in full view of all passers by. I have been past that farm many times and never seen it. I reckon it's invisible.
