Whilst the VTOL F4 "proof of concept" was a success, doubts remained about its viability.

The jet suspended above the treadmill, seconds before its wheel bearings are to descenigrare as it being lowered on the conveyor 'matching' its speed.

the "nanny-state" took it too far when it came to training F4 pilots

OR

even F4 pilots have to jump through hoops for the USAF

It slowly began to dawn on the F4 crew that possibly their wit and wisdom directed at the Helo crew the night before to the effect they were not real flyers had not been well recieved.
