Its already clear he has form for it, conviction for pretending to be a police officer........am i missing something here or is this guy really flying aircraft!! i feel like i am dreaming reading this thread. this guy needs reporting to the police and the authrities asap. (and i realise that guy has done a great job so far in trying to expose this guy). falsifying your log book is a violation right there......lets get this guy out of the sky.

212 man- I think you got it in one! I got about half way through this thread and the FIRST thing that popped into my head was..."this sounds an awful lot like the 'guvner'!
For the other poster who mentioned West African justice and 13 year old girls, all I can say is GOOD!

virtual pilot
virtual lawyer
virtual private detective
virtual policeman
virtual adult

No possibility of "Insert Coin" anymore.

Something must be done about guys like this. They are a disease to our profession & it is up to us to cut them out like cancerous tissue. I have flow with plenty of guys that claim this & that & it became so obvious that they are liars. For example in GF we have an Italian-German FO who claims to be an Airbus check captain, who also claims to have been an Air Mauritius training capt on the 340 but the company do nothing!!!

Its a sad fact their are b**sh*tt*rs in every industry.

Did my CPL with a guy back in late 90's, and his sh*t was so bad that we even nicknamed him "B*LLsh%ter ' + surname (lets say Smith) . This guy had done it all, seen it all, and incredibly whenever we mentioned a small thing about ourselves... this guy ALWAYS had to say he was something better! B*LLsh%ter Smith was somebody you'd never forget in a hurry. OK, he wasn't a bad fellow... but his poo stank far and wide.

I have heard he's now on the 737 with a UK LCC... since early 2007...

As for our present incumbent (as per the thread) - seems to fit the same mould.

I feel for you..

I was part of some litigation where an Ex-airline pilot was taking off grossly over gross, then coming in on fumes, among other things, part of a wrong full termination suit, where the chief pilot was fired for bring this to the attention of the company. FAA didn't care, company didn't care, pilots on the field, never took a stand for safety.

No one cares

Flying out to a job interview, a Continental pilot told me that they were being 'pushed' not to take on extra fuel before taking off, because the cost of carrying that extra fuel cost this or that. Everyone is flying on fumes now, with him mentioning that one jet diverted to New Orleans, on a Florida - TX trip, after flying around a couple of thunderstorm.

No one cares.

After seven years at a company where I started a very busy flight dept, the boss hired a 500 hour pilot who said he had 2500, proceded to run the flight dept into the ground, company doesn't have a plane anymore, company lost millions in sales.

No one cares.

Biz owner that I trained, crashed his Citation Encore, trying to get into a small field, at night, tailwind, over gross, killed his wife, disfigured his daughter in the fire. FAA said zip, insurance company paid.

No one cares.

Last company where I worked, flying a Citation Ultra single pilot, I mentioned sitting at 45000 feet by oneself should require not only a certain competent level of flying but a good fitness level. The guy they hired, was 61, with high blood pressure, who snaked his way around the single pilot check ride by going to a school where he bought the ticket. He hadn't flown in 3 years, didn't have a medical untill days before he had to fly. Company got him cheap.

No one cares.

Came back from a major airline interview. (Alaska) Passed computer test, one to line capts and hr, passed, then on to chief pilot and head of HR. Everyone said I was qualified but wondered what would happen if I got hired away, if I could handle the lousy pay, what would it take for me to quit. On and on. They kept saying I was qualified, but really they wanted a guy that couldn't quit, just needed to fly, and would do anything for a job.

No one cares.

Company opened up a satellite office, never put a sign up on the freeway, not in phone book for years, boss's son trying to wreck Dad's biz. I brought this up. They lost millions, 100s of people out of work.

No one cares.

On another tactical thread (Glocktalk) I started, I asked what armed people would do if a terrorist was shooting up the place. Most all said they would run away and call the authorites. Hardly anyone mentioned any compassion for those people getting taken out and wanting to do something.

No one cares.

In response to your thread specificaly. You can care or not care, but what you do reflects on you. Many in here have probably sold thier souls in one way or another to get to where they are, and I certainly understand one simple fact: Just about everyone has some dirt on them, if you look hard enough. It's the rare individual that is actualy clean, stands up for what is right, and takes the hits for it.

That said, you can do something about it, or just be another scumbag, in a room full of scumbags, all thinking you pulled something over on the next guy. That fact that you brought this up means yours conflicted, good. You shouldn't be, but atleast your thinking about. People bitch about the lawyers screwing things up, but keep in mind, when and if a good lawyer finds out your training people this way, he might come after you, your company, and hte idiot pilot. Sorry folks, but that's justice.

I don't understand why someone would be able to come after me for the way were were training people, as I have said before it is all above board and we had the required permissions. Even if they could it would not make me any less likely to make sure that this reaches a suitable conclusion as whatever could happen to me would be no where near as bad as what could happen if I didn't. I wish I was not the one who had started this but someone had to before he went any further. What he was doing made me so angry. I now realise that starting this thread was the right thing to do as it has proven that people do care and things will be done.

ssg,

the fact you kept repeating ad eternum, "no one cares" can't justify in anyway any silence regarding this type of crime/scam/whatever, be it a doctor, lawyer, pilot or even a plumber. We can't be all that cinic.

Never meant as a justification

By exposing the problem we bring it to light...

Never meant that it was ok, just passing on some info...I deal with it, have dealt with it...but I am the rare bird, if more people stood up, less 500 hour pilots would be flying airliners, less accidents, less drunks hopping on the jets, we are who really regulates this industry and it's not improving.

If you think it s a problem, great, but ask youself what have you done to improve things...

Other than getting his name out there I don't think much else will happen. I have forwarded my concerns to the FAA office in NY which deals with the European pilots but I don't think they care as have heard nothing else about it nor has anyone been contacted about it which I would have thought would happen if there was an investigation. I am surprised as it is a pretty good way to seriously reduce flight safety and I thought the reason for the authorities was to increase safety.

I guess it could be a case of its not in our part of the world or he has a license from you so its not our fault. I have pretty much given up with this as there is not much else I could do. I was also surprised to see it was moved to jet blast, it is not a bit of light hearted banter but I guess PPRuNe thought it better to put it in a forum with a high turnover to make it go away for whatever reason.

I can only hope that if he does find employment where he is again out of his depth he manages to get away with it incident free for long enough to actually gain the experience needed for the job. The problem is it wouldn't fix his head which is obviously broken and not fit for the job.

Or maybe they thought someone might come up with more information or ideas. Anyone had a word with Special Branch?
