The Chinese are rapidly colonizing Africa. They can provide plenty of expertise and cash.

There was a piece in yesterday's Times that they have been trying to get the dispossessed white farmers to come back. I feel there are some circumstances where what has been done can never be forgotten, much less undone, and the treatment of their farmers is one such.

A lot of them are happily running farms in Australia that the previous owners sons were unwilling to take over.

Mugabe.

As usual nothing was done about this " thing" or what ever you call him, it could have been sorted a long time ago but the trouble is they did not want to upset his allies, to much politics involved. The Unitied Nations as in most cases are weak, who would replace "it" in most cases they would be the same. They should have put Morgan Tsvangirai into power who would have had the backing from the rest of the world but that's to late now. There's no answer to places like this, history will keep repeating itself unfortunately.

Reviving this to say that we had interviews with the competing groups on the radio this morning.
Despite the many years of ZANU-PF misrule, that "party" was trying to separate Mugabe and ZANU-PF to have their candidate elected. Ex Africa semper aliquid novi as Pliny(?) put it, so nothing should surprise us, but the idea that one man reduced the country to bankruptcy on his own is probably too much for even the most gullible to swallow.
Whatever the outcome, I wish the people of the country well!

Human society is tribal. If it wasn't, then there would be zero use for politicians. In Africa the tribal divisions are very distinct. They exist the same as everywhere else but the vested interests are far more open & obvious. The Chinese however are rapidly colonizing the dark continent, while UK politicians (& those that follow them) scrap amongst themselves about so called "sovereignty". Pathetic.

The new colonialism.
Buy a lot of it. Export excess people there. Repeat.
Works well until default and nationalization, (there's a bit of history for that in Africa) then all you can do is Plan B invade, to protect your assets and defend your people.
