Damn it - after a truly s**t day, I just wanted this one prize as a small token of something better ... and even this escapes me.

Sums it up really.

All is not lost, Mr Jordan. Mr Star has made a fundamental error in resuming play himself after attaining MC. The tertiary effects of the Diesenbach-Simpkins Opposed Thrust used to complete the cycle have not yet dissipated which allows for MC to be attained in seven or less moves if Stovold is to be believed.

I agree with Mr Twotter

Self Starting discraceful met with an outright ban, ooh decades back.
Dee Kay Dense famed user of the Winchester Whip, wrote in her memoirs
I've never met an MC self starter who would not be easily retrained
She would of course now be well down the tracks so to speak, but I digress.
Tuesday so it has to be Totteridge & Whetstone, therebye hangs a tale.

Mea Culpa on the self starting. Was intended as a friendly suggestion seeing as the last round had such a storming finish and my sudden use of inverse transfer and lateral shift was going to catch a lot of people by surprise. SWT of course took the right approach and I do believe the analysis of MC in seven or less is, at least theoretically, possible. Will take some skilful play. However, due to my error in providing a friendly suggestion that was so easily taken as self starting, I consider the most sporting action is to rule myself out for the next seven moves.

Ruling oneself out will revert the play to Standard Cribbit's and negate any chance of MC within seven moves.

Nevertheless

Question

Tricky one SWT. Do not wish to ruin what could be an interesting few moves, but at the same time most definately wish to avoid the shame of being seen to be a self starter and unsporting. Maybe we should refer to the referee. If the referee is happy to accept that I made a friendly suggestion as opposed to a legitimate move, then I would be happy to rejoin and thereby avoid play reverting to Standard Cribbit's.

Good Lord - Kings X, which, if I am correctly reading my Simpering Tindle, means MC in 3!!!

Don't be so sure! Marble Arch

Next move anyone? (For those who didn't catch it, that was a "Simpering Wallflower" named after the Julian Clary vs. John Inman round played in 1994...)

Angel

I am. Please rejoin.
Anxious to comply with the referees ruling, I rejoin the game forthwith and thereby save us from Standard Cribbit's. Think we have missed MC in three or seven, and would say we are in for a long haul unless anybody plays a truly great move. Anyway, a tidy lateral shunt takes us to Victoria. Suspect I have left lots of scope there for some interesting moves...

A dastardly move, but after some intensive research into the 1932 Ylkov convention and personally clearing the tiddlywinks, I move to

A fine move, Mr Whitehouse. Wonderful wrist action while clearing the tiddlywinks.

Time to bring out the big guns chaps!

This Blackshank's logarithm coupled with a Mercator paradox should ruffle a few feathers.
